I will judge him because nobody forced him to speak. If you are asked to do something and you can't do it with efficiency, then you don't deserve to be praised. This is a public speaking platform directed towards English-speakers, meaning you have to be good with your English to speak here. He should do a TedTalk in his own native language instead. There are many bilinguals and even polyglots that spoke on TedTalk before. Learning English isn't an impossible task. Maybe if he spent more time preparing his language skills for a presentation, his presence here could have been justified.

When people go to foreign countries, do you say "oh they should've stayed back and perfected their pronunciation or that tense". No because otherwise no-one would learn anything or get any better. Challenging yourself and putting yourself in uncomfortable positions is the greatest way to do anything - be it a TedTalk or simply a class presentation. So props to him.

This is very interesting. Ben Franklin said "early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise." Add to this, the fact that most CEO's get up this early... is very interesting. It has often been said that one hour of sleep before midnight is equal to two hours of sleep after midnight... and that for optimum health, we should get about the same number of hours of sleep before midnight, as we do after midnight. However, there are a few problems with his presentation... a lot of talk about how interesting it has been, to get so much attention for doing this. I suppose that was an important change in his life--to become famous for doing something. But his popularity is not supposed to be the topic. Instead, what we would want to hear, is exactly how getting up at 4:30 a.m. every day profits a person. And very little time was spent talking about that. I do not fault him for his difficulty speaking clearly in English. I would do much worse trying to speak in his native tongue, than he spoke in mine. (And after all, what is closed caption for?) I noticed one fallacy... *I only need 6/7 hours of sleep.* He says he wants to sleep, but he doesn't need it. That's like saying, I only need 4 glasses of water per day. I want more, but I don't have to have it. Your body can make do with less of what it needs, but it lets you know that you would feel better if you went for the optimum amount. If we would pay attention to our bodies, and give it all it needs -- no more, and no less -- we would be healthier.

+polly jetix What our body needs depends on what we do, how the make of each individual body is and what the environmental circumstances are.. some would add to that even how each individual's mind works.. because living in a body is interpreting its signals, and every mind is slightly different at interpreting. Setting a standard like 'drink 2 liters of water each day" like they did a couple years ago, can lead to many people feeling good when doing that, and a small amount of people dying from it, because their circumstances were too far from the average. It is a common fallacy in thinking these days, to think that what is normal, the norm, the average.. that this is 'good' and all else is bad.. In the same way, people who fall outside the norm or normal are being stigmatized as 'bad'.. this society is a bit sick.. in my opinion. To accept such illogical ideas about reality.. that's usually called a mental illness. ;)

Click on CC for subtitles. Then you can sit back and read what he's saying as he says it. You will be able to tell that the subtitles correspond exactly to what he's saying. Without the subtitles, you may or may not be able to understand him. His English is actually quite good. The problem is his accent, articulation, and inflection, all of which will probably improve with practice. NOTE: AUBG = American University of Bulgaria. Thanks for the talk!

iSquared I share your sense of humor. His vocabulary, diction (i.e., word choices & usage), grammar, and sentence construction are good. I know this because, with effort and focus, I can understand what he's saying. Thus, it's fair to assume that his reading, writing, and understanding of spoken English are probably excellent. The problem is his sound production. He needs to train his mouth, tongue, and ear to de-Bulgarianize his speech. Basically, he needs training with helpful feedback, including listening to recordings of his speech and comparison with a native English speaker. In short, your humorous comeback was well deserved. ;-)

Paola and Pedro, please understand that any native speakers of English who would make fun of someone trying to learn the confounded language is probably only a marginally intelligent monoglot who was raised to be insular and afraid of learning anything new. English is an amalgam of so many different ancient and modern foreign languages that even most native speakers have lifelong difficulties spelling, speaking grammatically, and pronouncing it. I made only the highest grades in English through all my years in school, but my five younger siblings made only average grades or below, and we were raised in the same house, by the same parents, and went to the same schools. Good luck with your continued efforts to learn while enduring the negative attitudes of small-minded people who, most likely, will never even TRY to learn a second language.😊

+Troy Stephens Try heading to bed with all electronics shut off at 10 p.m... and no peeking at the phone. Pick up a good book, and read by low light. Take a melatonin, and after 1/2 hr. lights completely out. You'll wake up at a decent time, unless your body needs a lot of sleep. In that case, start to bed 1/2 hr earlier every night, until you find the time that gets you enough sleep, and also gets up up about 6 a.m. You just might need 12 hours a night. People under stress often do.

+BluJuiice your point? I don't live in Ireland so the "fajr" (morning prayer) time in Ireland has no bearing. I just checked the fajr pray time for Dublin on www.islamicfinder.org/ and the latest is 6:34 in January. So if I did live in Dublin I would still have to get up at least at 6 to make the prayer at 6:34. the prayer take place before sunrise. and in June it is 2:55. so once again I don't see your point.

Speaking in a foreign language can be easy, but it takes time to master it. If you are not fluent enough in a language, then your brain needs more time for processing the information, before you can actually say the foreign words. That's why this guy had a few pauses in his talk. While this guy has a seemingly good level of English language, he seems to not be natural speaking it, what might suggest that he has not practiced speaking enough, just yet.

Finding Faye your comment made me snooze lol i think to avoid snoozing you need to make a mourning routine, like making yourself to look the phone only after you wake up and make some stretches or yoga, or just 15 min of deep breathing, and just then see your mails or messages. First couple of times should be annoying but then it become natural and snoozeless (?)
