We get asked a lot what Motorbike we have and how we carry it with us on our travels
Here, Jon shows what we do to fit our Honda MSX 125 in the garage of our Motorhome

Really good info. Were not full timers so we have 2 scooters and a trailer have no garage. + a frame car so we do have a choice. Really good weather scooters come out . Not so good or with friends car comes along .

Not sure if you still have this bike, but I thought I would say anyway. You can buy mirrors for GROMs that go under the bars. Look cleaner and would make storing the bike that kittle bit more easier.

I push mine in rear wheel first That way you can control the front brake all the time and steer it into postion. Also plywood on the floor with wheel locators fixed onti it. This is so with heavy braking or even worst an accedent the bike will not swing sideways .

At last a UK video showing a motorbike/scooter loading into a MH garage 👍 We intend to use a Scooter, possibly a Honda Vision 110 if it'll take two of us up the hills 😀, if not then a 125. Also looking at the Chausson range and potentially the Titanium 640 where we can also up plate to ~4000kg if needed.
@lifebeyondbricks
@lifebeyondbricks 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Colin, when I first looked into getting a small motorcycle to fit in the garage there was not much information and no videos so we hope this helps. We looked at the scooters but found they were quite heavy in comparison to the Honda MSX, it is a shame that they don’t do a 300cc engine as it does struggle a little up hills with 2 up, but it is a nice option to have if we want to leave the Motorhome on a site.
@colinphillipson4830
@colinphillipson4830 3 жыл бұрын
@@lifebeyondbricks I'll also look and test ride the MSX two up. I have a new style Honda Forza 300 but that would be too heavy and large to fit through a door, unless a huge Malibu style garage with a 300kg garage weight limit, then you need Malibu money. Other option is to tow it on a side trailer with swivel wheels? Thanks.

this is incredible, I imagine the economy and comfort that this bike can offer during the trip. I don't speak English, i'm Brazilian, so I couldn't understand much, but I could tell that the bike is very safe. Does anyone know the distance between the mattress and the ceiling? if even with this big garage is it possible to sit on the bed comfortably?
@lifebeyondbricks
@lifebeyondbricks 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Danilo, The Honda MSX is a pretty cool little bike and being 125cc is very economical. We run our Garage height the same all the time so we have 94cm from mattress to ceiling we have had no issues sitting up in bed.

Thanks Jon, how did you support the bike whilst ratcheting it down, on the side stand?
@lifebeyondbricks
@lifebeyondbricks 3 жыл бұрын
The shape of our garage floor aids this for us as it’s quite a narrow floor section with raised steps either side, which means the foot rests of the bike lay against the step as soon as the bike starts to lean making it a bit easier for us. Our previous Motorhome had a really wide flat floor with no steps so I used a block of wood and the side stand to keep the bike a bit more upright. Using a Velcro strap to hold the front brake on also helps to stop the bike from rolling away. Hope this helps Nick.
