Living on a narrowboat full time is a wonderful experience, but it isn’t without its difficulties. In this episode we start to run low on food, but nipping to the shops after work isn’t as simple as you’d think… 🌙🛒

Yes stuffing is raw when done on baps & brought from takeaway places, I prefere that. Some nice apple sauce on that toastie would have worked well. Top tip keep ur spices in the dark will keep fresher & last longer. Loving ur daily Christmas vlogs. Love Deborah & Paul nblady in red ❤

Since you've got the stove lit all the time, have you looked into a peltier type device that could convert some of the heat to electricity? Maybe not hugely efficient but could be a trickle and save a bit of diesel?

I’ve just been trying to convince one of our 2 new kittens that it would not be a good idea to jump off the top of a bookshelf onto the ceiling fan🫣. Another lovely vlog, thank you guys! I have a question.... is running the boat for 1hr a day enough for water & to keep the electrical gubbins (work laptop, chargers etc) charged? Also, I could not work out how people ran the engine with revs without moving forwards! LOL Thank you XXX

We find 1 hour to be enough if the batteries get a good charge once a week eg when we cruise! But we invested in quite a big battery bank because we knew we used a lot of power with working full time etc 😊 haha! no problem

Oooh interesting! Do you need to rev the engine in order for it to charge? Just wondering what difference it makes from just having it turned on

We didn’t rev ours for the first year, but with our new lithium batteries they can absorb more so we put revs on. I think it just charges faster with revs on but it all depends on your setup. if you have a battery monitor you can see how much is going into the batteries and do a test to see if putting revs on makes a difference or not. hope that makes sense? 😅

Would love to get a set to work from home myself I'm a mechanic I've been trying to get it off the ground for 2yrs since our son passed away. Wes is a game designer in the games industry! And I used to work in admin but was able to quit when we moved onto the boat to focus on our youtube.
