I wake up on a beautiful sunny day, and even the fountain is running! It inspires me to rush to the local garden centre and start planting for a summer filled with flowers and vegetables in our walled garden!
The Chateau Diaries Episode 194 ✨🏰✨
Escape to the chateau with ’The Chateau Diaries’ 🏰
This channel follows the adventures of chatelaine Stephanie in her French 16th century home, the Chateau de Lalande, in the heart of rural France ❤️
We share our life in this ancient chateau in the heart of the French countryside, and show you the diy, renovations, crafts, cooking and gardening that are needed to bring a home like this to life!
A very special thank you to all of you who have become Patrons of the Chateau de Lalande. You have made The Chateau Diaries one of the top 500 Patreon accounts in the world, and have transformed not only out lives here, but the future of this beautiful chateau! I’m overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity. On behalf of this beautiful chateau that will continue to survive and flourish because of you, thank you!!!

About shooting a new intro - Stephanie, you might consider, shooting a new overview of the Chateau each season for the next couple of years, because I have a feeling, that the garden and whole exterior will change dramatically over the foreseeable future. You have already done the courtyard, since the last one - but would it not be amazing in say 5 years, to be able to do a montage, that shows everything changing? And maybe.... even the lake reappearing at the end? How amazing that would be!! 😃

Any changes to the intro would be a big mistake for so so many reason. Think of your favourite tv show, soap opera, that have been running for years and breaking ground with popularity... The intros never change, regardless of how old they are and regardless of how things have progressed. People have a psychological connection with intros, those first few notes of Chateau Diaries, the pace of the intro is perfect as is the content. That's when we know we are on, little adrenalin buzz and happy days. .. A petition not to change it please! :)

Oh how I long to live in France at the moment. Here in Texas it's been quite brutal. Right there with you here in Denton, TX north of Dallas/Ft. Worth. We are praying for the promised thaw on Friday and Saturday, but then we will have to contend with the refreeze which may be worse. So sad about their friends loss. My Sister and her husband lost their home and two cats in a horrible fire three years ago. Just devastating for our entire family. They lost EVERYTHING. Many lives lost across the polar south. 😢🥶🙏🏻

The seeds will be fine. The 10 centimeters is if you plant directly into the ground. You’re planting in pots that will be transferred after they establish growth. At that time the roots will grow down. Have fun. Btw... the seeds I sent in glass vials can be planted in Spring after the last frost. 😺😺

They have keen eyes those chickens. Thankfully, your voice calmed him down, but still he thought it best to tell the other chickens and they are cackling about it now. Great to see the garden looking so good. Surely, Mummy will be happy for the effort. I would love a Mummy update, hoping both Percy and her are well. Sending them love.

I'm watching you planting those sweet peas and saying, "Nooooooo!" 10 cm is too deep to plant as seeds. The rule of thumb is to plant seeds 3x as deep as the size of the seeds. So if a sweet pea seed is roughly 6mm, you want to plant those seeds approximately 2.5 cm deep.
@angelhelen84
@angelhelen84 3 жыл бұрын
Also, the mice will eat them in a flash. I have mine indoors until they have grown enough. I think the 10cm maybe for the pot depth because they grow deep roots.

Just as I turned onto the road she screamed out and I slammed on the brakes. She had seen an aquaduct or a raised Roman road in the field off the small road. It took me a while to calm back down. But getting out of the car and taking pictures of the Roman ruin helped.

Bonjour All at Lalande : Well Stephanie, it looks good there in Fance, here in Canada, we still have lots of snow and will have some more for the next two months. Therefore, I find you very lucky to be able to enjoy such nice weather. The planting was fun to see you enjoying yourself so much. both Selmar and Philippe did really well on their projects. A bientôt tout le monde.

Wow, everyone is so busy! Phillip has just done exactly what I have done to the base of my bed. Old French linen sheets are just perfect as then are so strong. I did mine, oh about 6 or 7 years ago, and it is as good as new. Old linen sheets are good for lining curtains too, and thinner or finer sheets make great shading or net curtains.

I suggest a light shade of yellow to paint the blue wall, I think it’ll make the room much nicer with the wooden pieces and the curtains

Remember, Stephanie: You can ALWAYS pull onions early for spring onions, aka scallions. If you plant the bulbs deeply, you'll have more white part than green tops, but they're harder to pull (and vice versa). And you can plant the onion bulbs VERY closely together for some spring onions/scallions. I plant 16 bulbs per square foot for scallions--very close! So wonderful to go out to the garden and pull a handful of scallions for a dish. BTW, you can grow scallions from BOTH red and white bulbs. Happy gardening!
