Here’s a time lapse video showing us recovering a large storage footstool/ ottoman in a bright orange designer fabric from Kirkby Design Crush 2 collection.
We didn’t have the time for a full tutorial but hope that this will help people who have a basic knowledge of upholstery and want to see some of the techniques we use.
Here are some links to some of the tools we use

I know this sounds daft… but when I look at the finished product… with the fabric handle.. it looks like it’s blowing a raspberry… aka Terry Pratchett luggage! It’s an amazing transformation 😮

May I ask what make/model your industrial gun is please? And what kind of compressor it's attached to? Thanks very much! I've checked the link in your description box,but that leads to a generic tools page, I'm afraid! Do you run day/weekend courses or tuition, please? I hope so! 😊

Hi and thanks for watching. The gun we used is a BeA type 71 and we use a Jun-air silent compressor with a twin motor. We also would recommend looking at Omer guns as they are very good quality and slightly cheaper than BeA. Depending on how many guns will be connected to your compressor you could probably get away with a single motor silent compressor and if you can’t find a Jun Air on eBay you can also search for a Clarke Shhh or Bambi silent compressor. They’re all similar in terms of noise but the Jun Air one will typically be more expensive. Unfortunately we don’t do any courses yet but it is something we are considering for the future, possibly in person or by online. We will let people know when this happens via social media. Hope this helps! 😄

@@premierupholstery-upholste90 Thanks so much for your really helpful response. You should definitely consider creating online classes - you have too much skill and wisdom to not share it - and make some money from it too! Do you ever re-sell your own older tools when you upgrade, or..? Final Q. I have a (basic but working) domestic Singer sm. Would it be able to cope with the multiple layers of upholstery fabric when for eg making an armchair seat cover with piping insert? And if so, what's the beefiest needle I'd need to cope with it all - I'm not sure if there's an upholsterer's *_needle kit_* that sm manufacturers make, or if I just need to buy separate jeans or leather needles etc.

@@221b-Maker-Street it’s definitely something that’ll happen but not sure when as we are so busy but will have to try to find time. Yes we do sell some things like sewing machines when we upgrade but most things like guns and hand tools we keep as they last a long time and when/ if they break we throw them away as they’re not worth fixing. For your machine you’d have to look in the handbook or online and find the biggest needle size that it’ll take and give it a go, if it doesn’t work so we’ll just keep an eye on Facebook marketplace and eBay for a decent second hand industrial machine, ideally walking foot and with reverse, something like the Juki 1181n is a good starting point and the 1541 even better.
