I love this woman ! Marlene has given more training advice more nutrition and enrichment and more life lessons on bird care than all the other people . She helped me never give up . I have had many birds before . My bird now was a wild caught Baby Goffin’s COCKATOO . I know his history of 13 years Before me, First , quarantined , then purchased from Bird Store , there 5 years caged not tame . 1 st home kept 2 years sold not tame 2nd home lived in a clear acrylic cage so he could not bite , a daycare center in this home with kids pounding in his cage and no bars to climb Never tame now “ viscous will fly at your face , hates glasses or attacks everyone and all objects . 3 years here . 3 rd home kept 3 years not tame thrown food at him . Sold to breeder , never was successful to breed Sold twice and returned he was wild , I met him , was told do not bring him back , he bit me. In the face on my eye brow and face that first day …. I bought him , He was so afraid of everything he never had toys , he would scream in fear and hide in the corner. He bit me every day for 2 years . Now we are together 10 years . He is tame , we shower together , and kiss , not bitting out of fear , open cage door , always nite time cage in my room . He is my love. He doesn’t eat if I am gone, he will bite anyone who tries to hold him , he can fly but it took two years and he stopped plucking his feathers. I am single now for years , raised 3 daughters and retired , and he is My responsibility and priority, but how can I protect and provide for him if I can not ? This is a constant concern. He is 22. This species approx age lifespan 40 years . This week my dog a Maltipoo died at 14 years old . She was my sweet baby always with me . A million tears this week . There must be a way to have a plan in advancer! I do plan to be living to 100 at least . I love ya Marlene. Thank you so much .

Yes, he does! He's such a good bird with everyone. Never thought he would be so cool with everyone. The only thing is that he doesn't play nicely with all the other birds.

Hello! I have a 2 year old cockatiel named Atlas. Atlas is currently my only bird, and I am considering getting another bird as a companion for him. Do birds only bond with other birds of the same species, or could I consider getting a budgie or GCC? Hopefully Atlas also could meet a potential new bird before we buy them to make sure they will get along.

Merlin! Vinny!😍I love African Greys. Vinny, you always crack me up. Neither of my birds (I have a Pineapple Conure and now an Indian Ringneck) like the words no or bedtime. My Ringneck is not that bad, she will eventually go into her cage for the night, my Conure on the other hand... she is like Brando when Marlene tells her it's bed time, my conure will hide on my back where I can't reach her I have to either lift my shirt or bribe her with a treat. Marlene, I love all of your birds.
