It's a sad world when the people who tell the truth have to hide.
@ubberJakerz9 жыл бұрын
It's the world we've always lived in. Telling the truth to many people quickly has never been easier since it was much more simple to silence whistle blowers in the past. With the age of information we are in, we have a huge advantage if we all come together and fight for our rights. We cannot be silenced any longer, and Mr. Snowden is the most admirable figure in this respect. Let's all follow his example and not let the world leaders treat us as cattle.
@ubberJakerz9 жыл бұрын
Lori Quaresimo Well just us knowing is enough to force governments into further transparency. And from that transparency, voting opportunities should arise. Voting is the best way to make ourselves heard for now since marching the streets won't do a whole lot with obama in "charge".
@ubberJakerz9 жыл бұрын
Lori Quaresimo Yes, but the most important thing is to get people in power that believe in science. The greatest problem is that our leaders (I'm canadian and our leaders are no different) are anti science and will not prioritize effectively. This whole "war on terror" would be handled much differently if it were handled by competent uncorrupted leaders. Voting makes a huge difference and the only reason it's so easy to corrupt is the small margins won by. If more people voted, the margins would be harder to fudge (atleast that is true in Canada. Not too briefed on my American current events).

Lori Quaresimo I'm not informed enough to speak confidently on that, no.

The line of division between the good and the evil runs through every person's heart. You cannot cure it by application of laws, rules, restrictions, governments and shifting responsibility for all from you to them. It's always been and always will be individual. Until the day people begin to understand their own nature, a direction which is the exact opposite than the one we, as the human race, are following right now, the world will always be like this. Because we do not recognize or care to get to know ourselves, we blindly expand ourselves outwardly and all of our ideas are inherently contaminated with the brokenness of our understanding of our nature. Smart people will be ridiculed as insane. Good people will be portrayed as evil and we will believe whatever we are told, because we draw from information provided to us from the outside world rather than taking a time with ourselves and our common sense and ability to question things to reach our own conclusions. No man needs another man to govern him. And as Buddha said: _depend on yourself._ مكتوب

You have to understand the level of intelligence that this man has, he's definitely one of brightest and strongest willed individuals I've ever heard of. He speaks with extreme confidence, this is very important, he is sure of himself and he won't back down. To say that he's doing this for his own benefit would be the biggest lie of all time, this is beyond a selfless act, he has basically for fitted his life in order to speak up for what he believes in, it takes a special person to do this, make no mistake about it. If only more people had this kind of courage we would live in a better world than we live in today, say what you want about him, say what you want about me, I was raised to know right from wrong and to stand up for justice, this is exactly what this man is doing. It's pretty obvious that he stands for truth, he's not hiding his face or having his identity hidden, but his accusers say he should get a bullet in his head and they can't even submit their name, that says a lot if you ask me, it says everything actually.

The truth is they are the ones that should face the firing squad for all the lives they have already taken starting with War Crimes, Treason, Genocide, 1000 forms of Fear, Fraud and Deception, Murder, Identity Theft, Lack of Fiduciary Duty, Insider Trading, Extorton, Collusion...they have broken every law ever written under the color of law. They wrote the laws to protect and preserve their way of life with intentional disregard for our Constitutional Rights pertaining to Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness of the Greater Good. This is NOT the Republic of the United States. If you bought into the Social Security Act and you have a Debt Slave a NINE digit bank number... You are a dead person (fictional entity ALL CAPS straw man)identified by the above slave number and your wet ink foot print and finger print on that certificate of birth was buried at sea. Our lives don't exist in their eyes or on any document. Your life and any wages you earn are their assets. Its a real sticky web they wove. We are defined in Black's Law Dictionary as the ENEMY of the state you reside in and every state under their jurisdiction incompassed in the Corporation of the United States. This can all be verified if you take the time to educate yourself. Don't believe what I say do your own Due Diligence. That is the deepest bullshit I ever heard. Actual REAL witsleblowers talk about REAL STUFF. Its common knowledge that super computers have existed since WW2 that where powerful enough to record EVERY phone conversation in the whole world. Mind you this is before telephones where even a thing. And all these technologies come from the same source AKA the Nazi's. Also all the company's involved all stem from the same source AKA the Nazi's. So its obvious to assume since before the computer and phone become a commercial item it was already used and I assume invented for the cause of espionage and propaganda. Just like the television was. You can even say that These things where invented to see if the propaganda was working or not and it has also been admitted by the founder of the church of satan that TV and 'the music industry which stems from the cowardly ones trying to cast spells on people that they could otherwise not cast spells on.' Which stems from the Nazi's AKA the people who first started in this age with so called 'coward magic' also known as black magic because they put out a ciggarete in their own heart and are therefore filled with hatred.. AKA coward magic and to weak to stand up for the right thing and love. THE BIGGEST CRITIQUE ON EDWARD SNOW IS THAT HE DOES NOT STAND UP FOR THE CHILDREN. Simply all the people behind the alien satanic reptilian mind control cults are pedofiles and are widely exposed for satanic pedofilia and satanic ritual abuse. THIS IS A FACT AND YOU CAN KZbin ALL THESE TRIGGERTERMS FOR YOURSELF. The nazi's cult I think was called order of the golden dawn (FAKE GOLD) and there are a bunch more. It always connects to pedophilia and therefore is a distraction which I call trowing a dog a bone. Sure they are admitting some stuff that you cannot change anyway unless you submit to mother earth and live in a commune and stop using a cell phone. (Which is the purpose of living on mother earth and the purpose of your soul). So what you are saying is complete bullshit and you better stay off youtube if you fall for the propaganda of a russion robot. I don't care if its edward snowden or steven segal... They even use a telepresense robot as a joke to mess with you. Your kids are not save unless these worldwide cults stop and you stop giving your children away to strangers....

There was a time I was very critical of whistleblowers - but my reaction was directly related to my perception of a guy like Julian Assange (Wikileaks), who seemed to me like an unstable personality, defending an unguided libertinism with no boundaries and little or no rational parameters. With Edward Snowden I have a different perception. What he says makes sense, he defends his acts in a rational kind of way - he argues about the more tangible basics of our freedoms as people and citizens. Most of what he says is flat-out right. The US government has gone much too far. In Europe we were disgusted by their hacking into Angela Merkel's mobile phone for instance - We're sick of those arrogant governmental games. Our basic freedom is not to be tampered with that way. They don't have to do everything in public, but they are to be accountable, and be called to justice for their acts, just like everyone else. Snowden simply speaks the language of a decent citizen who loves the democracy.

As a former Combat Engineer & Intelligence Analyst I have very strong feelings that Mr Snowden's selfless act should receive amnesty, a full pardon and an apology when ultimately his pursuers are prosecuted and found culpable from their crimes against humanity. His conceptualizations are valid as stated. The direction technology as we know it and our own future are linked and that being said, we must protect it from those in power to remain objective~
@Danielle-nz9tn2 жыл бұрын
I agree that Snowden should be pardoned of all charges and his name cleared of treason, especially in light of the federal court ruling that the government’s mass surveillance was in fact illegal. But do you think he could ever be safe if he returned to the US?

actually, if someone mentioned this to YOU three years ago, you would have denied it and called the person who attempted to wake you up 'a conspiracy theorist'... Now that it is revealed, you act like you knew all along. Hilarious!
@nuttex9 жыл бұрын
***** "you would have denied it" A lot of mental gymnastics and condescending were involved in thinking that only you were enlightened enough to even question the governments around world. Us, simpletons and plebs? Nah, totally incapable of questioning authority. Seriously, if you're not that a 10-year-old babby and have read a thing or two about geopolitics, governments doing illegal and immoral things should come as no surprise, with or without the Snowden revelation. That said, the man's a hero for managing to present the factual evidence of state surveillance. P.S. About the "you act like you knew all long" bit - /pol/ sends its regards.

***** No. As Addison M said, you don't need conspiracy theorists. That there are people with good and bad intent in the world is a basic knowledge. Even more basic for a person that understands polarities of energies and that the good cannot exists without the bad and vice verse. And if you go even further and realize that goodness and evilness are just veils of our superimposition over the reality of human nature we delude ourselves from...then it's not a question of _if or if not_, but just of _when and where will it happen again?_

I deeply empathize with Snowden since I have experienced my own small snow-job by another insane collective. Likewise, calling me bad and despising me is not the real issue at stake. What is at risk here is- What Kind Of World Do We Want To Create? A world where any open dialog is squelched, where a conspiracy of silence is sanctified and people's lives are ruined. How is this any different than the hysterical/irrational Black Listing of half a century ago, that even when examined in a proper historical context, anyone in their right mind would recognize as unjust and evil.

Scott, The only reason we are talking about oppressive government surveillance is because of Snowden and the like. As you point out so well, in your non-pretentious style, It (the topic of government surveillance) is now part of the public debate as it should be in a free democracy. Thanks in a large part to Mr. Snowden. No, you and yours are a significant part of the problem, and those who would rather have a nation of ignorant people who pass responsibility onto their leaders, not willing to look at the hidden hand of manipulation, and preferring to be kept in the dark. Our system of governance is not based upon trust of the government, quite the opposite. Democracy without an informed population is a sham, and an an illusion, designed to legitimatize whomever is in power.

Well said Brad. The damage of the last decade imposed by an irresponsible, manipulative, and uncontrolled government will be nearly impossible correct.

Scott Johnstone That's where you're wrong. Yes, people were aware that the government may have been spying on people. But nobody knew their overpowered programs, and nobody knew that they were gathering data of everyone and everything of which could be used against you in the future at any time.
@jimwilliamson498310 жыл бұрын
The governments position on surveillance is rather dubious. Currently they are talking about curbing surveillance to appear to agree that these programs are perhaps "a bit" out of hand, yet prior to Snowden, their position was to threaten, intimidate, and imprison whistle blowers. Snowden forced their hands by releasing documents and going as public as possible. I was surprised they allowed Snowden's story to get out, as they could have squashed it using national security as an excuse. Perhaps they thought the story was easier to spin by looking as if they agree at least in part with Snowden. Logically however it makes no sense to agree in part with Snowden and scale back these programs, while simultaneously seeking to prosecute the very individual responsible for bring the problem to their attention. No, there is little room for optimism, if they were truly smart handlers they would praise Snowden so they might at least appear genuine, but the evidence suggests they hate him too much to play their hand better. They will make a show out of changing the system, and then continue with even more furtive plans. That's what I would do if so inclined. Simple.
