@@addex1236 Back in the past you would have loads of higher power characters either known or unknown with the Sayians, Icers and other alien races and even Majins and deities. Yes you wouldn't have Super Sayians unless you opted for expanding the Legendary SS outside Broly earlier or made Bardock time traveling canon, but there's still plenty of scope. And if you want a more OG DB style show the past is ideal. If you have new characters you get to reset the honestly mad power creeps DB has sometimes.

Thinking about it, if I were to make a post-Goku Dragonball, I'd take to the stars. Make the protag a mercenary/treasure hunter seeking glory and wealth as they travel across the various galactic factions. And as the cast and crew builds, we can then take from so many different worlds, leaving the main team, once things are finished, looking like somebody shuffled the Z team, the Ginyu Force, Cooler's Armored Squadron, the Crusher Corps, and the Slug Pirates together and dealt out 7 cards. As for the Dragon Balls themselves, I'd make them more common and rare at the same time. They'd be a well-known item of power with many groups and individuals trying to get them, but they'd be quite a bit harder to activate. With the resurgence of the Namekians, both from New Namek expanding it's influence and from more communities that fled the cataclysm, in the time between now and DB, many more sets of Dragon Balls were created or revealed to exist. However, something in the past that made them much harder to collect, both giving them natural radar shielding, and dispersing themselves across all inhabitable worlds instead of just the homeworld. It also gets muddied of what balls a person needs to get what they desire (Do you need a set from the same planet? Just a chain of numbers? All of 1 number?), escalating the conflicts between the factions. This can then take up a core portion of the plot with our heroes taking sides both with and against the factions in the scramble for a wish.

This is a really unique and fun idea for a far future sequel/spin-off. Reminds me that originally the torch was going to be passed to Gohan but they chickened out and fell back on what worked. Makes me wish they had actually gone through with that, we could have had a story that spans huge lengths of time sort of like what they do in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and we could have seen how the Dragon World evolved. Instead we're stuck on the same set of characters and general idea of training to become stronger than the next strong guy. At least Daima seems to be pivoting from that a bit, but it's really hard to seperate characters like Goku and Vegeta from their insane power-levels without it feeling like we lose some of what makes them who they are. Doing a total slate wipe like this is a really really cool idea.

I'd imagine this takes place in the DBO timeline after the massive wave of training inspiration. Chronoa creates the time patrol, and all those people leave, making most on the planet, especially from the city, go to wherever the time patrol is (I think on earth?), leaving the planet much more deserted. Since DBO takes place in 1000, I'd place this "Dragon Ball Re-Roll" (balls roll, eh? ehh?) in the year 1075, just as some of the time patrol veterans start to retire. This would leave old people and young people the only ones left on the planet. I placed my OC Fusi at this time before I reworked her story to one that involves her majin backstory more. I had a rough but fine time working around her being inspired by Goku but not being directly influenced by her. Hopefully, if you continue this story, you can find a similar level of story balancing!

Actually my idea for a post-Goku story would be more along the lines of the U6 Saiyans. Seeing as Earth has been the the target of threats from space they would have a defense force and become basically intergalactic space cops focused on defending Earth but also exploring new planets and building friendly ties like the Yardratians and Namekians. Think Dragon Ball mixed with Star Trek.

As to how I'd go about making a After Z warriors DB series? Well, there is Idea 1. My take on a Momotaro story. Idea 2. Stories inspired by Greek mythology & Idea 3. A team of heroes based on the Chinese zodiac. & like Akira Toriyama I'd write Gags & fun stuff like that. With a few notable differences such as better pacing of story arcs, Characters getting a good amount of focus & some good old quality over quantity. Among other things.

A year ago I remember pitching you an idea of a Dragon Ball series going back to its roots of martial arts and traveling the world with Piccillo, Tien and, Yamcha and possibly Gine. Maybe Yamcha is offended after being a 30 plus year joke and understandably falls to villainy. It give Tien and Yamcha relevance and return to the fighting roots of Dragon Ball while giving some old favorite characters new focus/life.

Question: My question is to you, do you think that Toriyama would go back to previous Dragon Ball z and make a Canon movie about any of the other movie driven characters? Like for Example... Example: Janemba, bringing him back. But now it's Gohan's wedding and some serious crap is about to go down and Goku and Vegeta don't fight because Goku is still on about Gohan being the defender of Earth, plus Goku is still tired after the Kid Buu fight. Trunks and Goten help fight and bring in more creative moves or even a complete fusion of Gotenks actually in a serious fight for a change. Still loses or at least runs out of time. And then Videl can even fight some random Goons alongside Chichi and Bulma as they actually fight for once and we see them with chichi's Mantis style, Burma using a blaster and a giant wrench to fight in a comedic fashion. Even bringing back Launch for a cameo. We get Ultimate Gohan finally getting a W on a badguy before they boch it After that, we get a whole beautiful wedding with Gohan kissing Videl and living happily until Beerus arrives. Conclusion: I think it would be a cool movie to revisit thee time period for what we grew up on and say a nice goodbye letter to the fans saying "Dragon ball z is over, get ready for Dragon ball Super!" I think it'd be fun to make a story based on the Epic of Gilgamesh. The story of a foolhardy man seeking immortality in the Dragon World could be fun. Following him on his quest, solving riddles and challenges seeing the weals and woes of the world, meeting curious people and befriending them. Will he find that wish? Probably not, after seeing better uses for such magic, but I would try and find an opportunity to go for a cheeky "Grant me immortality... For about 5 minutes to deal with an impending threat"

Make a series in one of the erased universes, the one that would be the third equivalent of Universe 7, that way you can have saiyans and all of that but, just like Universe 6, it would all be slightly different. And since this universe was erased before we found out about the multiverse, it would be isolated from teh main story. If they want to do fan-service and hype, they could eventually bring back that Universe in DBS or find a way for the main characters to save themselves when Zeno erases them, thus bringing them over to the main story or making a cross over story. But that doesn't need to happen at all for a long, long time, it's just an extra incentive to keep in the back of the producer's head.

But I have thought about a post Goku world for a bit, and honestly just to keep things somewhat familiar I think it'd be cool if Yamcha or Tien become the Roshi for the next generation. My concept: The average power level across the universe has settled down into a relative average, but increased dramatically in density. A lot of technology is either lost or abandoned, which leads to relatively limited travel in terms of intergalactic intervals, but limited knowledge amongst the population of aliens is known by now.

I feel Dragon Ball's worldbuilding is too arbitrary to justify a setting that is too disconnected from the established plot. Every other ark adds something new and entirely unheard of, in order to keep the ever escalating stakes high. And those are all scaled directly to Goku. Once you know of GoDs, Angels, other universes and mortals who can nearly rival them, it becomes increasingly harder to sell stories on the planetary scale or below...
