Hi Luke , thanks for always be thorough with your reviews. Just wondering if there's any upcoming camping trip?

I have a cheap plastic angle light which I mount on my vest's upper pocket - in that configuration it is superb for finding things in the dark! Having a durable Aluminum Fenix would be worth the price.

All right, good intro on the angle-head market, Luke. Wonder if you'll like the Thrunite TN20, which is in 18650 and has the magnetic tail you talked about, plus being able to go from angle-head to traditional since the head can be rotated. Have you tried this on a front chestpiece pocket? And as for the horizontal swivel, can't you just rotate the pocket clip?

Use this light every day and love it. Rotating top is not needed just turn the thing. Not kidding when I say I use it every day.

I agree but I don’t think they listened to ya. The made a totally different one with a magnet so we can stick it to tent pole. Nice review on the light.

Cant you just turn the whole flashlight? would the turning feature be good for anything?

Ha! Exactly...

this light has its drawbacks but it still really is the only option for adjustable head angle flashlight. great camp/travel/work light.

it would have been even sweeter if it was also compatible with the identically sized 14500 battery for for higher lumens and and longer battery life.

Been using one for three plus years, worn on my work safety vest about 50+ hours a week. Keeping hoping for an upgrade, if Fenix would take the setting from RC05 of 5, 50, 150 and 300 lumens as AA battery with charging port would buy at least 2. As a bonus, paint the bottom blue, top yellow with silver around lens have a minion light.....

You darn kids an' your fancy pants transformer flashlights! Heck in my day we had two kinda flashlights straight and angled. If the angled flashlight was good enough for rootin' out Charlie from his hidey hole and the Boy Scouts got along just fine with the other, we were perfectly happy. We thought we was dang lucky to have two battery choices by crackin'! The choice of a five pound 6 volt lantern battery or the D cell. We were high on the hog by Sally! My Gran Pappy would raise us a fuss o'er our new fangled electric torches though. "Why you dang kids needin one them fancy 'lectric lanterns? Heck in my day we had a kerosene lantern and was dang proud of em........"

For a few extra bucks might as well get the Nitecore HC30 , much brighter (1000) lumens plus it can also be use as a headlamp.
@johnjames2189 жыл бұрын
that would be great on a ruck shoulder strap adding a magnet, now that genius
@engineeredlifeform9 жыл бұрын
+John James My thoughts exactly! I have an Ultrafire holster I use on my rucksack strap, it rotates 360 degrees, so usually it's worn with the torch facing upwards on my chest, but I can rotate it 180, and push the holster onto my shoulder so it illuminates forward in the holster (and looks a little bit like the Predator shoulder gun :-) ) . I would definitely have one of these right angle torches on my small rucksack for hands free work. Headlamps are OK, but being so close to your eyes don't always work so well if it's misty or foggy, so there's definitely a place for this torch.

Patrick Caple That's the same thing as saying an obsidian scalpel is weak because it can't cut trees well. You can't just ignore usage tiers like that.

Patrick Caple Apples and oranges, buddy. You gotta set up standards to have a valid comparison for anything in the multiverse.
