I wonder what a deity who required that you must be Holy or Unholy would be like. A god of... war profiteering? I dunno.

When I first started GMing PF2e, your channel was an invaluable font of information for questions I didn't have answers to, and this video carries on that trend of easily and simply explaining mechanics for PF2e! I wouldn't be running my own PF2e channel if not for some of your videos... great video as always! Thank you!

That's awesome to hear! I'll check out your channel!

Your straightforward explanations are very helpful.

This feature seemed fairly straightforward to me, but I've seen so many people getting it wrong. I'm glad to see a clear, straightforward video to send them.

This was VERY helpful! I’m leveling up a 1st Level PFS Cleric and I’ve been trying to decide if I was going to Sanctify him or not. Irori lets you choose. I was SURE that Sanctifying as Holy made you VULNERABLE to Unholy. I’m not sure WHY O thought that, but that seems to be a somewhat common belief. 😮

I was looking for the explanation that only classes with the sanctification feature can be sanctified. Thanks!

Excellent! My group was quite confused by this changes. This will help clear all of that up!!

Overall a good summary of how sanctification works. It would have been nice if you mentioned that some feats can change things based on sanctification, such as Divine Castigation (cleric) or Aura of Faith (champion).

Man… thank you so much for the content you provide. It makes such a difference for people that might not have the time to read all the changes, but can listen to them at work or when busy. As always fantastic details and everything is very well explained and summarized!

I appreciate the video, because this something I am still wrapping my head around. My feedback on the video is that even under your What is Sanctification? segment, you do not say what sanctification is, you just explain how it works.
@stinkratgamingАй бұрын
That was some helpful clarification! I now understand mechanically why the graveknight would not take take any holy damage from divine lance but... it just feels kind of off for me in regards to the power fantasy of a sanctified holy spellcaster, but that's just my opinion.
@harjutapaАй бұрын
But also: I'd love to see a way added to make a non-Sanctified spell become Sanctified. Maybe a specific feat. Holy Fireball sounds like fun!
@swaggysealАй бұрын
well there *is* divine immolation (5th rank) and holy light (3rd rank, single target), and a few others.
@elementaryelknone6854Ай бұрын
I’d probably have it be a spell shape feat, probably fairly low level
@HenshinFanaticАй бұрын
Homebrew, but I also allow sanctification for Axiomatic or Anarchic depending on deity.

I suppose that the formerly Law and Chaos aligned entities left out of the holy-unholy antagonism should serve as useful agents in the holy war. They deal spirit damage like celestials and fiends, but have no inconvenient weakness to their sworn enemies...
@Iceblade269Ай бұрын
I hope they make sanctification more accessible in the new book, though it’s not hard for a DM to just call you holy or unholy
@AtrianpaulАй бұрын
Nice video!! I have a question. for those how can chose sanctify or not is a permanent choise? if you do not sanctify you can later sanctify??

Whoops I thought everything with spirit damage was sanctified

Been waiting for this one!!! One thing that still strikes me is that ancestries or edicts and anathema do not pick up weaknesses or immunities or resistances. Given PF2Es general vertical and horizontal approach I’ve found this a head scratcher for character builds. Any GMs or @Dave use House rules or other ways to bring these in as variables? I though sanctification would open this up more but it really has not done that.
@HowItsPlayedАй бұрын
I don't have any house rule to grant sanctification, resistances or weaknesses outside of what's already in the game. Especially in the case of sanctification, I think it should be fairly limited and rare. There's a difference in worshipping a deity and being anointed by them. And there's a difference between fighting in a war and being "special forces" (for lack of a better term). So I like Sanctification being limited.
@jacobwilliams6545Ай бұрын
@@HowItsPlayed right. 100% love the limitation, I meant more that there are not more interplays with Weakness or Resistance or Immunities as part of it. Ideally these attributes would be tied more to ancestry but it would be cool to see sanctification/special ops to interplay with them especially bc it is limited.
@HowItsPlayedАй бұрын
@@jacobwilliams6545 Yeah, I don't know. Maybe I haven't played enough Remaster yet, but when it comes to game balance I tend to not mess with it. And so far I haven't had any cleric/champion players express concerns with it.

Hello, and sorry for the somewhat irrelevant question, I just feel like I'm going a biiit crazy haha. I could have sworn you had a video on hexploration, but I cannot seem to find it now that I'm looking for it. Was it taken down?
@HowItsPlayedАй бұрын
You may be thinking of a different channel... I have not made a hexploration video yet.
@cabbageshiniАй бұрын
@HowItsPlayed well, thank you for clearing that up! Guess I'll just keep an eye out for if/when you do :)

Great video! Here's my (insane) question. Is it possible to gain both the Holy and Unholy traits as a PC? Like what if I made a Grandeur Champion with some kind of Unholy Cleric dedication at 2nd level?
@HowItsPlayedАй бұрын
No, it explicitly states that a character may never be both Holy and Unholy.
