Pastor's wife mistakes I've made: it's time for some pastors wife real talk. Today I am going to share 3 mistakes I made as a pastors wife, part two to my first video y'all loved so much!

I am a Pastor wife and I have learned, not because people are nice to you, means they want to get close to you. Sometimes people put on a front and let you believe they are there for you. and in reality some of them only want to know about you or your weaknesses, so they can feel good about themselves. So dont share personal things too quick before you truly get to know them.

Don’t try to do your husbands job. As a college minister I tried to step in and really control and take over his job. It is my job to help him not control and do his job. I used to get so mad at my husband when someone would ask me details about something he had not shared with me, as if he should have been communicating better with me. It was tough on our marriage. It took me having a baby before I stepped back and realized m6 role was to help, encourage, support, and respect him, not do his job for him. Now when asked I simply say I am not sure, I’ll have to ask him.... the transition was hard because the other women still expected me to know it all and control it all but I feel way less burdened and he feels more supported it’s been a game changer. That is so true! I 100% agree! I have struggled with wanting to take over things that I am better at than my hubs and that doesn't give him the opportunity to grow in those areas! I am not a pstors wfe, but a mistake I have made is oversharing just my personal life in general. I have found that it really opens you up for judgement and can really turn others off. I'm an awkward person already and oversharing didn't help me at all 😅

I enjoy your videos because you're honest. My biggest mistake of being a pastor's wife was not believing that I fitted the role. That held me back so many years. I finally know that I fit the role well. That's why God chose me for the position.

I'm not a pastor's wife, but a church secretary, and I have found the biggest thing that has gotten me into trouble is jumping into a conversation that I didn't need to be a part of. I tend to be "in the know" because of my position, but boy, does that get me into trouble! I really need to practice the concept of waiting until I'm asked to pipe up.

Thank you for this! I can't tell you how many times I've had various church members ask me about politics, health (vaccines, etc.) affirmation for their viewpoints, and even about other people! I'll give the benefit of the doubt that some people are just curious, but man no matter how much I just ignore or give a grey answer, some just don't stop. lol the last year God has been teaching me a lot about discernment and praying before, during, and after the conversations I have with people and what to share. It's a very lonely road, thanks to God that he have Him in us!

2 mistakes I’ve seen a Pastor’s wife make are….The pastor would tell his wife struggles and private Church matters and she would get so upset and retaliate against people publicly. Also, I’ve seen a Pastors wife manipulate and try to take the wheel on the Pastor’s ministry and force her ideals on the Church and end up ruining it.

Learning when to share and when not to share 😩 my biggest mistake. I’m an extrovert and this is my struggle bc it has bitten me like SO many times. I’m in such a box bc I really don’t have anyone to talk to and when I did reach out to church leadership it caused such a riff in my marriage that my husband left!!! He’s going through such a hard time in life and I thought I was doing the right thing in reaching out for help but it turned and now they are sitting him down and he blames everything on me now. I am struggling with church life and find it freeing that I am not a pastor wife anymore. But I do miss the fellowship. I feel so all over the place bc had not shared about our struggles to communicate and get along maybe he’d still be the pastor. Idk why I feel this way. I know I sound like a wreck and all over the place but I’m hurting bc I feel like I am a mistake and it’s all my fault 😢🙁😩 uggh. Lord help my unbelief. Pray for me y’all

I was approached to lead the women’s ministry... not my thing, sorry. I told one of good friends about it they laughed out loud!! If you have a young adult that needs a place to live and support I’m your gal! I don’t fit the pastor wive women’s ministry leader role, and I’m ok with that.

I’m a pastors wife and my biggest mistake is making myself too common and relatable to the church family. This sounds totally absurd and if you’d have said this to me before I became a pastors wife….about another pastors wife…I’d probably even be offended. But…. I tried to be relatable to everyone. I’d show up for every youth car wash and scrub tires, I’d first one to church, last one to go, be up on the ladder painting the columns, going shopping with the ladies, joking around with the youth, jamming music with the music team…etc…Sounds great right???? I thought so too…But now, I feel I’m seen as just a super fun church buddy. I’m too common and there’s very little respect. So….When my husband wants me to step up and teach some of the youth and ladies, I’m seen as a peer and not taken seriously. I am not sure who’s at fault here… me or them. Lol. But…. Idk. I want to be involved and love on everyone…. But then I’m seen as a peer and not a leader.
