Hozelock Automatic Watering System, Is it worth it?

What do you do in winter? Do you take the whole manifold off the tap and blow compressed air down the hoses to clear any water and prevent freezing damage to your pipes?

In the winter I disconnect the electric timer & manifold and I leave the pipes and reconnect everything once chance of freezing passes in the spring

Is that just your lawn, sorry everything is brown here at the moment, if you have a installed irrigation, just follow the flow of water, is it coming out at the water supply, then control device eg timer, to the soaker/ dripper / sprinkler etc, if at any point it stops then your problem is before this, it might also be to do with pressure so check you have enough pressure or flow if that is needed to operate the heads / sprinklers

Hi I am looking to set up a similar system and found your video very helpful. Just one question , I appreciate it would be drained down but do you leave the pipework etc out over the winter or should it be taken down for protection.. Thanks

I’ve left mine out but I have removed the manifold and timers off for winter as previous ones have been damaged in the past with water freezing inside I have had no problem with the rest being left out
