Once a cartridge is depleted and the second set refilled, installed, and working, will the printer be able to read/estimate the ink levels, or not? If not, what will happen, error codes other problems? Thanks

question what ink refill do you use when you refill your cartridges. i like the size of your refill bottles and the syringes, also how do you reset the printer for the cartridge, you were blurred out when you were doing a step....thanks

You can also gononto setting turn off " remember previous cartridge status or something to that effect .. I found it on a forum somewhere and it works So that if in a pinch or just need to know, you can use same ink cartridge

it it is called refilled cartridge, i put refilled sticker on the cartridge , for refurbish, you may need put your brand label and erase HP logos

Their ink is good, method is good. But even doing the 2 cartridge swap, and only filling to 80%. The error "The printer is not designed to use continuous ink systems" still comes up. Sometimes after many refills sometimes after only one. Most often the yellow cartridge Is there any way to restore cartridge or other way to prevent error?

hi please read instruction carefully. you have refill only it showed depleted message on the printer. if you refill any cartridge before showing cartridge depleted.then middle of printing ,printer will detect as ciss cartridge installed and not able to restore it.

hey I have done this (very carefully only refill cartridges after depleted message). But somehow error still comes up after a while. I've done about a hundred refills for my printers in the last two months and about 10 cartridges got the ciss error. I started only filling to about 80% of max capacity to avoid chance of slightly overfilling. But still comes up. In the times the error came up, it first said "depleted" but then error quickly changed to the CISS error before even getting chance to remove cartridge from printer.

At one time you could refill HP cartridges but they made a software change block any but theirs. You could save about 30-40% by using Office Depot or Sam’s product. I still think HP has best printers but they rip you off on the printer cartridges.

Hi.... i was ready to buy this printer and use non-epson ink BUT after seeing a couple of posts here similar to yours, I am not sure about getting it. Did u ever get the printer to accept the cartridge...what did u do? Hope someone sees this.....:)

I wait until the printer says, "cartridge depleted, please change to resume printing". Yet even after this I still get the CISS error. I have the 952 for Hp, and I am using an OfficeJet 8720.

The cartridge just expired. The chip allows gor a certain amount of pages to be printed off, then the cartridge dies. In order to solve this you need to buy a modded cartridge with an arc chip. It is well worth it since you can get 4 100ml bottles of ink for $40 on amazon. Those ink bottles can refill the cartridges up to 4 times, depending on the size of the cartridge.

I recommend an X551 dw or X451 dw printer. About $150-200 more on amazon, but prints at double the speed.

What is a "modded" cartridge? The only cartridge i can find for this HP-8720 is the factory HP one. Do u remember name of company you bought the cartridge from? Also what brand or what seller did you get your ink from? Also, is it pigment or dye? I appreciate your advice!
