i love this laptop. at first, some of the features that are unique to it were a little confusing (like the touchpad control zone)...but its very easy to get used to. It's also a beautiful laptop.

TrindyForce It's the same laptop. I have previous generations with an ivy bridge processor. It is a great laptop, but mine has wifi issues sometimes and touchpad issues, however according to this review the new ones doesn't seem like it has those issues.

I just bought the high end model of this laptop. 15.6 inch screen, 16gb ram, i7-4712 processor, 4gb video ram which is completely overkill when you factor that most laptops don't even go over 2gb of ram, 1080p screen for 1143 from HP's website with their student discount. Waiting for it to arrive. Hope it's worth it.

I would lean towards the 256GB Sandisk SSD between those two. However, my pick would be the Samsung 840, it's usually around $129.99. The Samsung 840 has a proven track record for performance and reliability.

Hello Nazario, I would not say it's a significant difference. However, for single core performance the Intel i5-4200M will be slightly faster than the AMD A10-5750M. Overall, they are comparable to each other. The main differences between the two models is the RAM, and the full HD panel. Thanks for subscribing. :)

Great Review! I just got this laptop at the beginning of this month and I have to say it's an excellent buy I recommend the Intel version as it has full HD Display and 8GB's RAM. The full 1080p display makes the Intel version worth the extra money alone I will never get a laptop without full HD ever again.

What's up Skyler, In terms of laptop life expectancy, I would give a slight edge to the HP M6 because of the lower power consumption of the i5-4200M and not having a dedicated GPU. However, the quad core i7 processors found in the HP M7 and the Lenovo Y50 consume about 20% more power and draw more heat. If you're looking for pure performance than get the quad core i7 chip. I got another question though, would the Y50 be able to run TERRA and AION online or any other high-end graphical MMORPGS on high + settings including in-game large scale siege wars? Since the sale at Best Buy is going to end soon, I have to ask before I leap ahead and purchase one: Which laptop do you like better? This, or the ASUS Q501 laptop you previously reviewed? That is a tough one indeed, I would lean towards the HP M6 because of the build quality, speakers and the Intel HD 4600. Both displays are very similar but the edge goes to the ASUS for color accuracy and brightness. Battery life was slightly better on the HP M6. FYI, Bestbuy is always running a sale on this HP laptop every other week and last years version of the ASUS Q501 can be bought refurbished for usually around $480-$530 but keep in mind it only has a 90 day warranty.

Thank you. The AMD 8650G GPU is slightly better than the Intel HD 4600 in certain games. What other games do you play? Keep in mind the AMD version does not have a 1080p display. Personally, I would lean towards the Intel version.

BestBuy has yet again brought a new version, the m6-n113dx. It features an AMD FX processor; the best AMD processor you can get for a laptop. I am thinking about getting this one, the FX processor features an R7 integrated graphics which runs games and videos in HD and can play newer titles like FIFA 15 pretty well.

Wizard I have one and I upgraded the RAM to its max which is 16GB. I have not upgraded to SSD but I'm sure it can. I did upgrade to a 1TB but not SSD. It does have left and right click buttons on the trackpad but the buttons are not clearly distinguished. You just have to know they exist and know where the line is because it's not shown like most are. Also, it is important to note that this model has some issues with the trackpad for many users like myself. It moves in different directions at random times. It's not very accurate and has some issues that new drivers still haven't worked out. I resort to using the touch screen mostly. There is also another issue where the touch screen will not work at random moments. Although more rare than the trackpad, it still is a issue. Restarting the computer seems to correct both issues. I believe the touch screen issue may result from overheating. Overall, it's a nice computer, but I should've taken it back. I recommend playing around with it if you're thinking of buying it to be sure that it works and take it back as soon as you witness any of these issues.
