After having to order this part twice. The second finally arrived and the condition was horrible. Corrosion on the springs and screws. It was like it was left out at sea for two months, which was about the time it took from leaving the original country to getting to the US. Replacing the part did nothing. So, it was either not the real problem or the part was just as defective. I should have just discarded the printer and bought a new one, which is what I have to do now. I will say the video was very clear and made it easy to disassemble and reassemble which I did now several times. I will be ordering no more parts from China.

This is a great demonstration of the hp printerhead construction. Unlike in Epson it is possible to take off the printerhead and examine it. HP 950 951 950XL 951XL PrintHead Print Head pen Holder Rack Chip spare part does not cost much which is valuable and important knowledge about in this video. EDIT : After taking apart the printerhead pieces and trying to re-seat the chip pins to push little more towards the cartridge chip pins i manage to get my hp 8600 to alive again, but i ordered the the spare part because it is obvious that there is some error there although it was this time once bypassed

Thanks so much for making this video. I thought I would have to trash my printer and buy a new one. My HP Officejet Pro 8600 started with faded streaks, and I cleaned the printhead with the program, but it didn't help. I will try what you suggested in the video. I'm going to order the part today and replace it. I just hope I can find a screwdriver that will fit those tiny little screws. Once again thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Sept 2019. I ordered the part, waited 2 weeks for it to arrive from China, installed it with your very clear instructions, but unfortunately I am still getting the Printhead Installed Incorrectly or Missing, even after multiple tries. But thanks for trying. I appreciate the effort.

try not to buy from china the part originated in Taiwan and he should have told you to handle with care,also those little springs are very easy to miss align and thy get a lot of ink on them and will not give you a connection.you have to use cleaning solution on all contacts. and use an ink eraser to clean after solution.

The only thing that I observed, as in my comment, is that it now is seeing ink levels are now indicated, but I still get the 'missing/installed incorrectly' error. Prior to ordering the part I did use a cleaning solution, however I don't know if that helped or made it worse. Any suggestions? I love this printer for docs and photos, and can't find a decent replacement. :(

There are other reasons why it won't work. But thank you for this. I am really angry with HP that they can't build something that lasts. I have had my printer for two years. My problem is not the one you are showing. But it is one of the print head issues. I will just have to buy another printer. I am going to tell my legislator about this problem. I think HP is building things that don't last so we have to buy another one.

There are 8 springs behind the mainboard. These should be cleaned also. Especially if the ink levels still display correctly and it's giving the missing or incorrect install printhead error.

I looked under Amazon using HP 8600 printhead pen holder rack chip. One part “pops” up that appears right-- full title: Printer Parts 950 951 950XL 951XL PrintHead Print Head Pen Holder Rack Chip Contactor Sensor fit for HP 8100 8600 8620 8620 8630 8640 251DW 276DW. The Brand is Dingmingming, yes, made in China. They do list the following OEM Code: CB863-80001 CB86380001 CB863 80001. There are only 7 reviews for the Chinese part and it appears the working rate was 50/50. The one written review was basically, “it’s junk.” The cost as I write this is $34.28; shipping time listed is 3-4 weeks. In SMALL PRINT, it does state the part is re-manufactured. I’m going to try a cleaning kit first; I’ve already taken it apart and cleaned the connections using alcohol and erasure-no joy. If the cleaning kit fails, I think it’s time for a new printer. This one lasted ten years, but I let the Cyan and Yellow run dry during COVID and didn’t replace for several months. I think the ink dried and plugged the pin holes. I may also have accidentally burned out the chip printing in black and white with empty color cartridges. And yes, I always used HP ink, so I don't think this has anything to do with HP "setting" their chips to not work with Brand X ink--as stated below.

Thank you very much for the time you took to produce the video. Good English and good and simple instructions. My HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus printouts were showing signs of running out of Cyan. The Cyan cartridge was replaced, ink level on the screen indicated Cyan to be full and the other colors to be full as well, but the paper test printout indicated Cyan was empty. So I replaced the new Cyan ink cartridge with another new cartridge and the test printout says Cyan is empty. Any suggestions. Thank you in advance. Please answer me through my Facebook account.

Check HP printer has class action suit against them. HP was found to have used software to block printers using generic ink cartridges. I think there is a software fix but I don’t know what it is. There was a judgement against HP. The judgement has expired but they should still notify its consumers about a fix.

People should reserve comment until they get the part, replace it, and can testify that their printer works again. You get the part from Aliexpress in China. The web site is clearly noted on the drop down. I got the part, installed it, and it did not fix the printing problem which is identical to what was described in the video. The required torq bit is a T9. It is an odd size so you will lilkely have to purchase a case of torq bits. Just to be sure, I watched the video again, and re-installed the part. The problem is not fixed. Chinese companies will run similar scams to increase sales. How can you not buy the $6 part and give it a try? So you do. But it does not work. Buy a new printer. The HP OJ Pro 8710 is $129.

I cleaned out all of the ink that was in the print head but the only one that sends water out where it's supposed to go is the black all of the others shoot water back up rather than out the bottom. Does that mean that I used too much pressure when trying to clear the clogged ink? I purchased the printer used from someone, so I think the ink was not used for a while. I installed the Print Head and black ink came out on the right side of the printer. I have a printer failure message. I tried to get as much of the ink as I could up, Is there anything I can do to fix it?

I ordered this piece. Took two months to arrive. When arrived and I opened the package. The print head was damaged. Two strings tangled with each other, there was no way to take them apart. I had to rip them off and replace with the strings from my old print head. The plastic wrap was half ripped off. Had to glue it back. When everything was fixed and I installed it back to the printer, I had the same message as before. Tried to turn computer on/off, didn't work. So it's a total crap. Wasted $10 and most important - 2 months.
