It worked! The colors in my prints were way off. I looked at buying a new print head or a new printer, then found your video. I fetched a syringe I have for my horses and some tubing from my brewing supplies. Such a simple fix. Thank you!

Hi. Recently had problems with my hp8625, message printhead not found etc. I was desperate, not wanting to have to buy a new printer which is at least 5 years old. Found your video very helpful, which I followed. Trouble, this is the time of the pandemic corona CODID-19, isopropyl alcohol was hard to find, nevertheless I did find some 70% and followed your video----success. Thanks for the guidance save me from having to get a new printer, setting it up and debugging, which is pain. Thanks again.

I might have missed the warning. Not toooo much pressure or it could pop the plastic cover inside the print head thus rendering it useless. I used a syringe (small baby tylenol one), it fit over the holes just right. Was working like a charm until I heard a pop noise and alcohol stopped coming out of the head. I opened it up to find the plastic covering inside had popped. 3 out of 4 colors ended up doing this. I'm not upset, I was pretty sure the printer head was too clogged to clear. Just a heads up.

Brandon, one question, do you blow out all the alcohol cleaning solution from the printhead as a last step? Putting the printhead in dry/totally empty??!! That would seem logical but I thought I would ask. Thanks

UGH... I tried this and now I can't print anything. Keeps saying my yellow ink cartridge is damaged. I opened and tried 3 of them :( Guess I'm ordering a new printer head.

I used a syringe that comes with children's liquid medicine (Tylenol). It fits perfectly over the nozzles. I was unable to clear the Cyan, but luckily we have an old 8600 that had a clean printhead. popped it in and good to go...now to try something stronger on the clogged cyan...

flushed the clogged Magenta. dried the inkhead. replaced it and added 4 new inks. ERROR Cartridge Problem: Until cartridges are installed, make sure the printer is turned on to avoid damage to the printer. Repeated the process and installing inks 3 times. Same Error Message. Ideas?

The HP video suggested soaking that nozzle part of printhead in warm water for like 5 minutes. Can I do that with officejet 8620?

Not sure there is a specific name for it other than a plastic tube, you can purchase a kit which is similar if not better than what I use in the video in the description box. Hope that helps.

Aquarium tubing works well and is super cheap. (different sizes). You could also hit the kitchen department of your favorite Dollar store and get a "flavor injector" which is basically just a large syringe with a long end.

Yes but I would not recommend taking it off the isoprophl alcohol will not damage it.

I did this and it pushed all the ink out but then I realized that the ink chambers were still full of alcohol. I did not see you check for any left over alcohol?

Pam Malp I have never had an issue with the alcohol or cleaning solution being in the Printhead. If you really wanted to do something to clear it out you can place the empty string on the nozzles and push the remaining liquid out. Not absolutely necessary though.

Okay I cleaned the head, wiped the contacts with isopropanol and carefully reinstalled everything. Now I get a "bad ink cartridge" message on Yellow and back. These are HP tanks that I took out before the cleaning. I had a spare yellow that is brand new, so I put it in and I still get the warning after changing out that one. Ideas?

The code can be reset by powering on and off and reinstalling the cartridges. However i have experienced this and it only works a handfull of times.

@@BestPrinters I have done that three times then I pulled the printhead out and cleaned every contact. It still gives me the bad ink" message, so I did a "reset to factory default settings"; no help. I have read other models have a "Ignore ink warning message" setting but it seems the 8625 does not have that option. It looks like there will be a large amount of cash disappearing soon. Naturally I just bought close to $100 worth of new ink, and I know the new printer won't use those same ink cartridge numbers.

Hello, I was getting the printer head missing or needs replaced error message on my 8610 I took it apart and am cleaning it like you did so in your video but no ink is washing out really into the alcohol . Will this still fix the print head you think?

What size syringe and tubing are you using? What percent of iso alcohol?

Walk into a pharmacy and buy a bottle of alcohol. Whatever is on the shelf will work just fine. Would you like to know the refractive index and boiling point as well?🤦‍♂️ There are so many visual references to indicate the size of syringe and tube. I think it’s ok if you’re a few mm off. Wow. #commonsense

Getting those electronics wet are a good thing? No harm? Hmmmmm.

No harm as long as you are using the cleaning kit in the description box. Also make sure to dry off the entire printhead and the electronics on the back especially. I’ve done it many times never had an issue.

I see everyone likes this but you cover a couple of things too quickly for me. First, you say to do the things you can do at the beginning through the program. It says when the printhead error comes up to hit the right arrow to get to the steps the computer to fix this. No right arrow appears. Where do I look for that or find it. Assuming that doesn't work, you say to touch something in the printer to release the ink. It was too dark to see what you touched and it was not apparent to me from reaching in there where the lever or whatever you touch to release it. So I never got started in dealing with the actual problem either through the computer or by removing the ink. I am sorry to ask about things so elementary, but the video was useless without my being able to do the first two steps.
