To all the people that are worried about screen flex, believe me, it isn't. Strength of a display isn't proportional to how much a screen flexes. If a screen is too rigid it has higher chances of breaking/shattering. Hinges are what you should be worried about (the ones on the omen look good so far). Had to put this one out again cause people still be having the same doubt 😂.

I travel quite a lot between college and home.. my bagpack weighs upwards of 6-7 kilos most of the time. I have to lug around a lot of stuff and i don't really have too many options.. this creates quite a bit of pressure on the laptop, in spite of having good padding in the laptop compartment.. the kind of flex I've seen in this laptop screen, doesn't make me feel comfortable and it's the only thing preventing me from getting this laptop.. if hp changes the design of the keyboard anytime soon, i would probably get this, otherwise, I'm looking at the g14 or the gs66 stealth or maybe the m15 2020

@@shalder8418 Aye I get you now. I don't think they're going to change it though. Even the other lineups like the envy are switching to this design. It's probably cause the older hp laptops that sat flush ended up smudging the screen cause of the keyboard.

Yeah with the great thermals and waaaay higher clocking intel....youre looking at way better fps yields across the board of were talking g sync or trying to get max fps on 1080p or less res....like esports ppl or etc using mini-dp to a 300 or 240hz panel....intel wins bc of the core clocks its not like they got 3600mhz ram and ryzen infinity fabric popping off in these laptops for games theyre not for pure gamers

True. I'm new to gaming laptops, I'm trying to buy a asus g14 1660ti vs 2060. But 1660 has just 5percent less fps than the 2060. Also runs cooler. U think it's worth it going to a 2060 rather than a 1660? I'm so confused. Just want to play gta 5 with mods, and assetto corsa mods. Also I dont like fan speed so I will always make sure the fans are not too loud, just a little more than an xbox one x. I suggest o take the leap to 2060 or 1660 will be good for the next 2 years

Please do a comparison video on the Lenovo Legion 5/5i VS the HP omen 15 (2020) I think both of these laptops are the most "bang for the buck" with massively effective cooling solution, performance and battery life. However there are subtle differences which will suite different buyers and I'm one of them. So a side-by-side comparison will be extremely helpful for mid-range buyers in 2020

Two qualms about mine: 1. No XMP profiles, so you're limited to JEDEC speeds and timings. 2. USB-C states 3.1 Gen 2 with 5GHz transfer of video, data, and charge but will not charge the battery so I can't use an all in one cable solution. Thermals are amazing though which makes up for almost all of it's flaws.

It is a great laptop! Got it a couple weeks ago. Thermals, graphics, screen, keyboard, everything. Ryzen is legit low temp and hi performance. My ONLY complaint is you can NOT press both left mouse button and left mouse button at the same time... but then again. If you're gaming, you better have a mouse. For basic use, normally never need to press both buttons. The laptop is the shit otherwise!

Been using laptops with no number pads for years and believe me, if you type a lot of numbers like I do, you'd find yourself actually wishing for a numpad 😅 Even so...it's not actually a dealbreaker, one can always attach an external one. Those keys look gorgeous though

I have been saving for a laptop for 6 years now and i will be going to University. in my Country Jordan. the only variation available so far is RTX 2060, Intelcore 10750h, 1 tera ssd, 32 gb of ram, 144 hz, and I believe 4 zone rgb lighting. for 2000 dollars. but very soon maybe in 3 to 4 days they will release the 300hz and RTX 2070 Super max q, for 2400 dollars I believe, is it worth the wait and the money or do I go with configuration that is already available. please I truly require your assistance this laptop will stay with me for years to come 5 at least. thank you so much

Thanks for the great review! I just have an issue with how you measured the sound level. It's not really practical to measure it right at the source. To make it reproducible, you have to measure it from a set distance. For example 50 cm would make sense, as that's probably the rough distance your ears would have from the source. When you know this distance, you can calculate the sound level for other distances. This allows for better comparing. Maybe choose a set distance for all your tests so you can make a nice comparison sheet. Other than that, I'm sooo going to buy an Omen 15 with AMD + RTX 2060!

One thing every single youtuber that has reviewed this has forgot to mention is the Coil whine that is present in the HP omen laptops. I just got mine a month ago and I love everything about it EXCEPT the coil whine. And alot of other people have had the same issue, its a known issue that HP knows about. Might want to keep that in mind before purchasing this laptop. Other than that its great!

i bought one. the fan can be noisy and the hibernate function (when lip is closed) may not work every times, one of the fans will keep running until you either shut down or try hibernate again.

I think he’s hyping up the speakers a little to much calling it premium. I’ve Owned mine for a month. Those speakers are good but not premium. Backlight bleed on it is almost spot on but I’ve seen and owned better. Owned a gaming laptop in 2012 and it had no backlight bleed. The fans does come on a lot as well

Interestingly, I was unable to tell a difference in gaming performance, temperatures, or fan noise between the Default and Performance modes. I think the Ryzen & 1660 Ti variant literally can't run hot enough for it to matter. So I just leave it on default!

had 3 of them, 1 just died after bios update (didnt charge anymore), next two had dead pixels, so i gave up on this laptop, since legion 5 w ryzen is out of stock in my country i went for the asus tuf 15, havent seen alot of issues with it, but the screen is really bad :). anyway i do my work on an ext display so no problem. You get what you paid for :)

Perhaps it's me, but I got a feeling the gap between display and body when closed looks bigger to what I've seen in other models. I believe I saw vids where the display is more flush to the lower part of the deck. Only was separated at the dip of the keyboard deck. Kinda weird right? Your also the first to state the audio is quite okay, most say it's not that good. I was kinda baffled about that them being Bang& Olufsen

yes the cooling is absolutely fantastic on par with legion 5. however you should have mentioned the design flaw about the big gap between the screen and keyboard deck. the screen flexes way too much because of this and doesn't inspire confidence. it may not appear like a big deal to you but i feel your audience deserves to know this.

Currently carrying the laptop with me everywhere I go in a bag as my daily driver. I have not observed my screen flexing under any circumstances of normal day-to-day usage. As long as my viewers treat this device with the care its price tag deserves I believe they will experience no issue. I would note that I do take much better care of my devices then pretty much anyone I know. I will daily drive this long term and report back to my viewers if any issue comes up.

Hey dal, important question. What color is your omen? It seems like all the ryzen variants come in 'mica silver' while the intel ones come in 'shadow black'. Both of them pretty much look the same so i'm very confused XD

Am I missing something? The fan speed doesn't change no matter what I do in command center, it's still loud as heck. Max or Low same level of loudness.

Just ordered from HP a Omen 15 Ryzen 4800H with 1660Ti, 144 hz display, 512gb SSD but only 4gb x 2 Ram with 3 years free warranty £1099.99 / $1396 should get by 31 July cant wait to try it out. Will buy two 8gb or 16gb of Ram later if needed and another 1tb M.2 SSD for all my games.

@@dalportodev Oh maan that's perfect I want it so bad. Unfortunately here in spain we only have the HP OMEN 15-en0003ns left which has the worst screen and comes with no operating system. Screen part sucks but I need it for music production so it will have to do. Trying to find out if the keyboard has 4 zones in this one, if it does I'm getting it right now before they run out. Ryzen 7/32gb RAM/ 1tb ssd/ nVidia GeForce GTX 1650Ti 4GB GDDR6. Do you think this a good build for content creation (no gaming)? I'm not sure about anything anymore.... 😅

Hello. Need a small help. I'm looking forward to buy Omen 15, but little bit confused between 2 variants. Hope you will help me out. 1. Ryzen 7 4800H + GTX 1650Ti 4Gb VRAM 2. Ryzen 5 4600H + GTX 1660Ti 6Gb VRAM Laptop usage -- I generally play all standard games, often high-end games too. But I'm not a die-hard gamer. And I use architectural softwares for designing, rendering & simulation. So please help me in selecting the better combination. Thanks in advance. 🙂

This is hard because it is a choice between more CPU cores or more GPU power. In the end if you want to have a better gaming experience pick the one with the 1660 TI. However the 4600H variant may have slower export and render times. Ultimately in the end it is up to you to decide what is more important for your use cases. Hopefully these are on a good deal too!

I will choose this Omen as price tag for Razer shall be much higher than that of this Omen. I dont know more about new Zephyrus G14, but I think its price tag also higher than Omen. I used Omen 15 2019 it is working very well until now

Question, I'm a Mac user and I'm very used to hiding the dock. Why do windows users hardly do that. I mean the status bar kcan be hidden in windows. Can you also adjust the speed of show/hide? I haven't used windows in years so I need t get used to it again
