Just a little tip for you. If you take flex seal spray and spray the back side of your body with it, it will give you the protection your looking for. I've been doing it for a couple years and have not split or cracked a body yet.. Great video.

I still run the stock body mounts for this car, but I gorilla taped the inside quite a bit. I’ve used magnetic body mounts on a bunch of cars though. I usually get them from Amazon.

Man that was one of my first hobby grabable Rc I bought back in 2006. It was an RX7 3rd GEN blue.. I think I still have that body.. so sad just sold it.. I have done some upgrades to it as well like new motor with esc. Back in that time brushless was not arround as much . Only brushed . So I put a 17 turn motor according to the spec. It did not have an aluminum drive shaft so it could not handle any smaller turn motor .. it was a very fun car to drive .. until I met it’s buddy Traxxas off-road . Y3AH BOY..

Nice! Gotta love the FD RX7! This one has an aluminum drive shaft, and I actually just put a smaller 20 turn motor in it as that 12 turn was a bit much.

If you like driftn yeah racing also makes a rwd drift conversion kit for it,you'll need a gyro but it's much more scale and it relates way more to real world driving

I bought the same 1 a few months ago only thing I changed was body tires and battery and it drifts really well just wish the nimh batteries wouldn't take so long to charge

For a "beater" radio I love the HPI tf-40, tf-41 radios. I wish Traxxas would take note. Better ergonomics and steering response. You are right, one handed driving is tougher.

Can you use a battery strap for the battery? Those are cheap and easy. I think they make a kit to make those rwd and give it crazt steering angle...that could be neat...but prolly a lot more money.

I can’t find a good way to strap it down without cutting holes in it. I’ve had a good look at the steering, and I think I can get a fair fit more angle with a bit of modifications. We’ll see.

Nah. I don’t think you need any special parts. Maybe the servo/ ESC mounting plate thing? I’m not totally convinced that the motor position has any real benefit.

I got most of it from eBay. Hot racing sells the aluminum upgrades, integy sells the shocks.

Nitro is dying as the modern electrics keep advancing. We don't spend anytime at all really repairing motors, chasing fuel or being told to piss off by police due to noise complaints etc with Brushless. Electrics are a lot more reliable and please trust me when I say They are just as much an adrenaline rush as liquid fuel driven RC's and in most cases quicker by default. I still like the large scale 2 stroke boats though as they ( to me anyway ) are worth the hassle of engine maintenance. Electrics though still break shit when beat up on so they are far from perfect. Go try have a crack with a 6s Arrma Fireteam, I think the word '' Toy '' would disappear from your future paragraphs used in conjunction with Electric RC's Instantly. Take the plunge bro... You wont regret it!! No offence to the content creator here though ok...But stay away from Crap like this E10. - Take care man, All the best 👍

Your not meant to take the battery holder off you just swivel it round so you will be brakeing it!

It doesn’t swivel any easier than it comes off. Also, you have to get it off of one of the posts to get it to swivel.

I'd throw that stock battery strap in the garbage and use some yeah racing Velcro straps then you battery choice is limitless 👌 good upgrades though!

Hobbywing 1060. I have a few of those for my brushed rigs. You want at LEAST a 60 amp ESC to run 3S. I use A lot of Zee lipos. I’ve had good luck with them.
