@@hybrid32494 take that extra fuel filter off, you will be able to tune it bettter, in my experience those extra filters restrict fuel flow and effect performace at high speed with the xl

hey man! I knew somebody would call out the hill. Thing is you can clearly see I was hitting the third speed a bit after the hill anyway, so the hill didn't really add to anything in this case. Plus a hill really won't add engine RPM, which is the only way to get more speed, you know. Well the next speed run will be in a flat area and I guarantee I will achieve the same speed or more. Nitro 4 life!!

Hey my fellow nitro brother! Yes, I think I can hit 50 for sure, I was not that close to the LEAN bog and plus I only did 2-3 passes really before the engine was hot enough for the speed passes. I think 50 will be here next week, and stock, who can beat that, lol!.

hey man! I'm glad you're the first to make a rational comment about the hill, because you're right. And by the time I hit third gear I was far away from the hill and on level ground, so my top speed had nothing to do with a hill, people need to study more math and physics, lol! Anyways, I'll do a 50 MPH run in my next video and there will be ZERO hills, and zero truth deniers. lol!

The second thing is, once the 3rd speed hits its not getting any advantage from the downhill, you know. Plus you can see I held third gear for a while to get the top speed, it most definitely was not achieved on the short 2 second downhill pass. I'm aiming for 50 next time tho.

Surely this is wrong info! The XL was already out two years earlier in 2008 compared to the Carson in 2010. But most importantly, Carson are just a Marketing team and distributor. They never made anything. Even their two speed monster truck, the Carson RockWilder was actually made in Taiwan by Ming Yang

Awesome runs, I have a savage XL myself and I’ve been trying to get it running again, do you know if the motors in the roto starts can fail over time? On a fully charged battery mine can barely turn the engine

They used brushed motors so the brushes can wear out maybe it's your engine but usually when the brushes wear out it just stops working unless the motor got really hot and burned the commutator try to see if your engine is hard to turn over that could be the problem

@@nomusicrc it’s definitely not the engine cause I was able to start it with a modified pull start I rigged up, the problem was my contraption failed immediately cause it involves packing the pull start with cardboard and stuff cause the hexagon on the pull start I had is way bigger than the starter shaft. Can’t find a pull starter for the K5.9 for the life of me. Might try using a power drill next

hey bro! There are no functionally useful kill switches for nitro engines. The most reliable system to prevent runaways are a correctly set fail-safe system and a throttle return spring. The radio I use has the fail-safe feature built in and in the case of any signal loss the brakes should be automatically applied.

Bumble Bee is the only kill switch capable of stopping an engine by shutting off fuel. By as Dmitry said all you want is a failsafe and a return spring. A great battery and a digital switch or battery plugged directly into receiver is the next best thing you want

​@@hybrid32494 I think you have proven hpi does not overstate their box art claims! I could hear more pull in er, a 49T spur might get you the 50mph, and I think it's fair game. Your xl stock gearing with the big trrapins is 52/16 on the v2 with the smaller wheels it's 47/17, likley the same ratio at the tread.
