Good views, especially the alignment of the curve to the North at 2.50....thanks.

The view of the viaduct curve from the air looks, how to say, more curvy than on a map…! 👍

@@stevetony6876 Well it always looked tighter than a three mile radius to me, and I speculated in an early video it was nearer 1/3rd of a mile radius! The passengers may have to brace themselves! And there is even less chance of feeding the ducks!

Thank you for covering the southern-end goal for Dominique, seeing it is a thrill (from across the pond). Amazingly good progress.

Hi Carlos, it’s a thrill this side of the pond too!! Thanks for watching. 👍👍

Great to see. It is really taking shape. Looks like there are only about 16 or so arches left to construct of the viaduct. Thdy'lbe starting to dismantle the coffer dams round the piers soon.

Might get a train running in about 8 yrs time at a cost of £200 billion . What a waste

@@stevenbennett6315 Look like they were well on schedule for the their 2028 to 2033 target. In fact I suspect the tracks will be testing the trains before the stations are ready, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the tracks will be waiting for the stations to be completed. Personally I bet the next Labour government will be pushing for 2029 opening date, right before the next general election.

Some interesting views here as ever, QM. Quite a lot to take in. You captured the curve of The Viaduct perfectly with Dominique hurtling towards the camera. Towards the end of the video, I see they were pumping PolyFilla into the gap left by the section that Peter the Rock saw being lowered into place. It's a shame you didn't carry on for a while more so we could see what was going on there. If they are pumping grout into the gaps, there must be some quite complex formwork involved, surely? Each section has internal passages and conduits that have to be preserved. How do they do that? Maybe Stephen Walker can enlighten us. Keep up with the great footage.

Yes Dave, that's a really good comment! I love your use of the words 'hurtle' and 'Polyfilla'. I'll have to use those (and attribute them to you of course)! But you also make some great points!

Well all i have seen is that each last segment of a span has a gap that is grouted in, the steel strip shuttering is made to be re used, that's what the pump is doing at the end of the video, what happens in side the section must be complicated as you say....

So I'm guessing another 12 months and they will begin to start to tidy up and re landscape the whole are.
@stevetony68762 ай бұрын
I think I read somewhere 2026 for the landscaping though I’m sure they’ll be done in 12 months or so with the main construction works.
