Thank you I love the idea that it is no different than suppressing emotions. It's just a mechanism, a strategy.💚

It is just a function of who we are. Some people internalize, some people externalize. Some suppress, some express.

Wonderful message! I’ve had that experience you talked about with a doctor putting that anxious woman label on me. So infuriating. And yes, I have often felt almost broken because of how stress triggers anxiety in me. Time to cut myself some slack! 😊

Yessss. Let's cut ourselves some slack. We're not a problem, we just live in a society that isn't suited for us. We need to find our community, appreciate ourselves, and from there, find our place. 💗

Great post, Annie! As a childhood trauma survivor, and an HSP, anxiety has practically been my middle name since I was a young child. It was well into my healing journey from my traumatic past that I started dealing with the anxiety. My poor nervous system has been out of whack for several years, so of course, that causes a great deal anxiety as my mind will spin on the hamster wheel of things that I did in the past, things I should be doing now, and worrying about the future. I am starting to identify when the anxiety rears its ugly head. One thing that has helped me greatly is neurofeedback. I did 32 sessions starting last September. It is really helped calm my anxious mind and I am able to focus so much better. Anxiety is still a part of my life but again I am starting to recognize when I go into that state and able to talk myself through it. As with most survivors, I am on a cocktail of prescription meds, which I absolutely hate but it makes my life manageable. Yesterday I was feeling a lot of anxiety and I wasn’t at home and realized I had forgotten my anti-anxiety pills. But what I did find is a jar of magnesium. That is good for anxiety. I took one and I felt so much better. Definitely going to get some more and keep those with me and praying that it helps. Neuro feedback is expensive and insurance does not pay for it. I have a hefty credit card bill to pay but I am thankful for all the benefits it provided. I look forward to going back to completing my sessions. It looks beautiful where you are. I hope you have an amazing day!

Thanks MJ. I understand anxiety can be an overwhelming part of life, much worse than what I have experienced. Keep doing what works for you, step by step, through your journey. Trauma makes for quite a difficult life experience. You are a champion just for continuing to show up for yourself. 🌸 🌸 🌸

Another thing is, I will not go to a male doctor because they do not understand what women go through.

Yup. I'm looking for a female doctor. I need a feminine listening perspective too.

Thank you for making this. You’re a very strong woman. First time watcher. Might you consider not having the background music playing while you’re talking, please? For me, it is quite distracting and makes it harder to focus on what you’re saying.
