Thank you for sharing this. It is true that the world is lacking a biography of Leicester. I am currently reading a book which certainly makes a starting point in rescuing his reputation from the ''just a very ambitious manipulative man'' that most people interested in the Tudor period seem to see him as. The book is Sarah Gristwood: Elizabeth and Leicester.

If you want to read one of the best fictional versions of the relationship between Elizabeth and Robert, I highly recommend the novel, "Legacy," by Susan Kay. It covers Elizabeth's entire life and is based on extensive historical research, although it does take some liberties. However, I think it presents a very realistic description of the deep and complex relationship between Elizabeth and Robert from childhood to his death and even beyond. It may be hard to find a copy, but it's well worth it.

Trying to find anything about this guy that ISN'T related to Elizabeth is damned hard work, ever the villain, never the hero, such a shame
