Tau Foo Fah, also known as Douhua (豆花 / 豆腐花) in mandarin, is a Chinese sweet or savoury dessert made with silken smooth tofu. This tofu pudding is a traditional and popular local dessert favoured by many people from all walks of lives. This soft beancurd dessert is very healthy and can be served in a sweet or savoury form.
The mere thought of Tau Foo Fah brings back fond childhood memories for many when one tucks in to the silken tofu dessert served in small round bowls. Tau Foo Fah is traditionally served with plain ginger sugar syrup, brown sugar or palm sugar syrup (Gula Melaka Syrup) - See our earlier recipe videos on how to make these delicious homemade syrups.
Tau Foo Fah can be easily bought and is usually sold together with soybean milk at market stalls or speciality shops. However, if you suddenly crave for a nice warm bowl of soybean milk pudding and can't find any, you can also made this simple dessert at home. Hello in 3:37 you put and stir gdl and cornstarch separately, but i notice when you put the cornstarch into the water, you dont put it in the glass you use for gdl. So can i put the cornstarch into the gdl+warer mixing glass before? Why my doufufah when set is not smooth? Still grainy but soft. Thank you

In video at time 3.22 how many cups or ml or grams of Soymilk will you have cooked and strained already before you add the gdl mixture? Thank you. I have a soybean milk machine that makes the soymilk for me and I need to know how much milk to use. Thank you.

Thanks for the recipe.. I was curious though.. is it 1.5liter for the whole 300g soy bean.. or 1.5liter times 2 (1.5liter for each blend) Thanks again

Its 3 litres water for 300g soya beans. As my blender is not big enough for the 300g soya beans, I blend in 2 batches.

My SoyBean Milk does not coagulate well. Can I add 1 teaspoon of GDL instead of 3/4 teaspoon?

can you please tell me. are the vid in order 3:25?.. setting agent ? .. do the GDL need to mix with Corn starch + vanilla?

Yes, the video is in order. Make the setting agent first before you boil the soy milk as you need hot soy milk to make the tau foo fah. The cornstarch makes the custard more smooth and silky and less watery. Vanilla is optional.

No need . After blending the soaked beans and strained, the soy bean milk is as fine.
