I grew up in So.California. You remind me of when, after school I would go home with my Mexican girlfriend to see her mother making tortillas by hand. She would slather some homemade butter over the tops of those things and give us each one. The warm butter ran down my arms as I devoured 2 or 3 of them, one after the other. My first boyfriend was Mexican. And his mother made me things I never had eaten in my family before. Homemade salsa which was amazing! Chicken with mole (pronounced mole-ay haha) Amiga's. I am going to make green chili with pork and I have pinto beans. I will make it today can’t wait. This I put in my recipe file that just has your recipes. I am from .San Diego . Are Mexican food is different than yours. But I love your recipes. Even though I haven’t tasted yours yet, I know the ingredients that you use and you put them together. I am a home cook. Mind blown🤯🤯🤯 all my life I had gas stoves. Was able to heat up my tortillas, chili's, and what ever I needed to roast. When I moved to apartment it had electric stove. Stopped trying to roast my goods. I never really thought to just keep using the electric burner. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I love how you say "my Ron". "My Frank" and I will be celebrating our 55 year anniversary this December. We were high school sweethearts and almost every recipe that I look for or dish that I make is with “my Frank" in mind. Yum! When I moved to Los Angeles, the first things I had in a restaurant were sopes and huaraches. I've had lots of sopes since then, but I haven't had huaraches because I just don't see them on the menu that often (even though my old neighborhood had lots and lots of chilangos) and now I'm going to try to make them on my own. I'm surprised that the process of making a huarache itself isn't that much different from making a pupusa! Can't wait to try it out.
