Nice vid, but i don't understand the rant about the camera. Every freakin' phone manufacturer is using the same picture for marketing. Of course those element are not that thick, but i assure you they are in there. The lens cover on the back side of the phone is just the cover, the lenses are in the dual lens metal housing. You'd have to disassemble that (but will screw the camera). You need several lens elements to get a proper picture and to be able to auto focus.
@JerryRigEverything8 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, and normally wouldnt mention it. But with all the other aspects of their shady marketing (like using a DSLR) Its the frosting on the cake that people should know about.
@Maochan818 жыл бұрын
Yeah, i have to agree with the shady marketing. No need to lie about a great phone, it's well built and takes great pictures. Marketing people are sometimes so stupid, forgetting that false advertising will sooner or later stab you in the back.

I have held one Ron , they feel very very nice to hold , there is a lot too like about the device , there are imo some short comings you have to be prepared to accept though if you buy one , from memory video is very average , no 4k video , 1080 p screen which is probably not so bad on the smaller p9 , also it is a chinese device , and if warranty is needed how is availability for support ? In my country (australia )huawei is still scarce in stores except for possibly the 6p which you find everywhere . Some reviewers dont like the em ui skin , , while im not crazy on all of it , i think it does have some cool features . i did think about buying the bigger brother P9 plus , as i just dont like small screen phones , but cannot find one store that sells the P9 plus other than on line importers ....and im not so keen on that . looking at tons of reviews about this device , imo it should really be classed as high mid ranger (even though by its looks and feel you would say it is even better than that ) , same as the p9 plus and even the mate 8 , imo they just dont quite tick all the boxes the super high end other brand models do , despite having very good presentation and being what appears to be very good overall devices . Knowing all this ..... i`m still tempted :) .

Actually they tend to have one service center in each country where they officially sell their phones. Their HiCare app shows you that and gives you means to contact them directly: phone, email, postal address. And forum, software updates based on IMEI check. Their service is outstanding from what I've experienced so far: I did unofficial software upgrades and downgrades on a P6 and a P8 and managed to brick them eventually. In 2014 they returned to me the P6 fully functional with its motherboard replaced and in 2016 they didn't return my P8, they gave me a new one instead. Both times I was fully aware they could've checked and would've been right to deny the warranty (I tampered with the software). They didn't. Maybe they wanted a customer and they got one, especially considering the build quality. Service time was maximum 10 days in both cases. Btw, I'm residing in East EU. Sorry for the long post but I had the same concern and no one could give me advice (until I checked with the P6)

I recently repaired the digitizer on my first smartphone (LG optimus lii or something like that). Was really easy, only a very little adhesive betweed digitizer and screen. The Phone was incredibly thick, 12.2 mm, cause the Mainboard wasn't L shaped arround the battery, it was under the battery. All in all a successful repair, paid only 4.44 € for a used new digitizer. Now working again!

Leica actually did have something to do with the software of the camera. While lenses make a part of the camera, the lenses mean shit if the software makes erratic decisions like overexposing an area for no reason. Leica's software expertise came into play here, resulting in why the Leica name is used on Huawei's cameras.
