My shitty punk/hardcore bank recorded a demo about 19 years ago with a young engineer who was looking to put a portfolio together. This engineer was working at the same local studio as Bob Rock at the time (which studio was owned by Bryan Adams, no less). One day the engineer is at the studio mixing our demo, and Bob busts in. He hears a few seconds of one of our songs and angrily demands that the engineer “turn this shit off!”. He further admonished the engineer and made it clear that he was never to play our demo in his presence again. I can’t say my (decidedly amateur) musical career had many highlights, but having Bob Rock hear our music and it pissing him off was definitely one of them.
