Astonishing! Am amazed that the cold glue does that and removes the dent because it adheres to the paint and not the metal itself. Paper thin metal helps !

Great knowledge share! I have been implementing the PDR basics even though ive been doing a full collision repair, with paint. You have really given me an outlook that works well with metal, the paticence to work with paint (not cracking it) to believe this is truly a great method. Body work takes patience pdr takes even more....👍🏻
@1st_track_dents3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jimmy, yes even a basic knowledge of PDR can help with your Collision repairs as it can speed some of the repairs up dramatically and reduce the amount of materials needed, hopefully saving you money! All the best 👍

Jake , I see you prefer l.e.d. Light over lines to view the damage/dent? Is it easier with l.e.d. Light? Thanks for your time!
@1st_track_dents Жыл бұрын
It's just a personal preference for me, I see the advantage of both, but for me the smoother nature of the lights is simpler and easier on my eyes, for the amount of jobs I do in a day, looking at lines all day would give me a headache I think!

You are amazing, unreal work Jake. What do you do on quarter panels when you can’t get behind them with your tools?
@1st_track_dents3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Joe, really appreciate you watching 👍Yes, quarter panels can be tricky, so you would have to start taking a lot of trims apart or be lucky and find a nice factory hole near the dent that you can feed a bar through. Failing that, if the dent is suitable for glue pulling that can be another method that can be used.

Gracias, me gusta aplicar pegamento frío en los grandes daños para comenzar y el pegamento caliente en las abolladuras más pequeñas en las secciones de doble capa. Puede usar ambos, pero el pegamento frío a veces es menos complicado y más rápido.

i have always been curious about the tips you use for fine tuning when you are pushing. It seems like your "standard rubber tip" and your plastic vinyl tip are the same shape? or am I crazy
@1st_track_dents4 жыл бұрын
They are similar in shape although the rubber one is slightly fatter and made from rubber and doesn't last long, the plastic vinyl tip is quite tough and lasts for weeks if not months. I don't really use these for fine tuning, I use a hard metal tip, a root beer tip or plastic tip more for the fine tuning:-)

Once again Jake, an amazing job there. Just a question as a former spraypainter ;-), why don't you use a small IR Heater to keep the metal at a certain warmth? Greets from Germany stay healthy
@1st_track_dents4 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven, Greetings from the UK. Good question, to be honest I move around quite a lot during these repairs and the floor space can start to get very busy and cluttered, so I quite like using the hand held hot air gun as I can use it when I need and then move it right out of the way when I don't. Also every job I do lately is in the rain so I wouldn't fit everything under my umbrella! 😂

Nice job. On a removavle fender (wing) like this, wouldn't it just be easier to unbolt the damaged piece and push it from behind, maybe using some heat on the metal (or plastic) panel and then get to the tapping down of the micro highs (micro lows) much quicker? I didn't know about cold glue (and I still don't know about hot glue) but these seem great advances on the PDR tiny hole/pull approach for difficult to remove panels.
