It was a huge red flag that in all of Dhar Mann's videos about not being mean to poor people, the poor person was ALWAYS secretly rich and the moral was "don't judge a book by its cover" instead of "poor people are human beings too and deserve dignity and respect."

Dhar Mann's videos on disability are also disliked by many disability rights groups as they are "inspiration p*rn" which is content that dehumanizes, misrepresents, objectifies and infantilizes disabled people in order to create heartwarming and inspirational content aimed at non-disabled people - sort of like, "if even weak disabled people can do this, what's your excuse" kind of a vibe.

I’m an actor with a lot of friends who work for (or have at some point) this studio. I think something a lot of them don’t realize is what a career killer having something from Dhar Mann can be on your resume; he writes and directs so poorly that many industry executives write off Dhar Mann actors as “untalented”. To know that they also aren’t even making a decent wage is unsurprising but just another slap in the face to people who think that booking his work is going to move them forward in their careers and live when it usually ends up stalling both.

@@kitt3n20101) actors have to constantly be creating footage and getting credits in order to further progress their career. Most actors who begin with Dhar are “green” or new to the industry and the opportunity to book any kind of work for any amount of money can be tantalizing. It sounds like Dhar also gives them the opportunity to return and play additional characters which means more roles for your reel and resume. At a certain point however this becomes unsustainable for the actor and they’re forced to make no money rather than scraps in pursuit of something with longevity 2) how does Dhar’s boot taste?

I couldn’t believe I saw a comment that was above yours on the top comments saying “thank you for bringing up that he’s a felon, I think a lot of people forget what kind of person he is!” Like excuse me? What do they even freaking mean by that. The system is soooo flawed. And if some thinks that a blemish on a record makes someone a bad person they are so wrong.

I think both points can be valid. Our justice system is very screwed up and many people are treated horribly, absolutely. But I also feel Dhar Mann's past actions reflect something about him as a person. A scam artist doesn't suddenly shape up and become a completely legit businessman without a good reason, so I think all he did was craft a better image for himself. I think it's more about reputation and behavior than legal charges he faced. That's just my perspective as a person who hasn't been through the justice system before. I do respect your struggle and I'm sorry that our system is so awful. 💚

I've been suspicious of Dhar Mann ever since I ran into a job listing he put up while I was job hunting in the Animation industry. It called for ONE person to be a Storyboard Artist, an Animator, a Props Designer, AND a Character Designer. In the animation industry those are ALL SEPERATE jobs for a reason. I'm so glad the actors are speaking up because they're the true backbone of his whole channel Edit: For what it's worth this listing was like a year or two ago, and it seemed like it was for an episodic kids show that he was planning on but I don't know if it actually went anywhere. It did seem like he was trying to build a team but deeply did not understand how much one person could or should do /naïve about how animation works.

He’s definitely in trouble when it comes to the kids. Child labor laws, especially surrounding acting are very strict. Seeing as many of his child actors are in elementary school or just now starting high school, he’s screwed. Already crazy enough that the actors are under contract so messing up a contract surrounding a child star will get one under a lot of heat. Legally they can walk away bc a contract for a child isn’t legally binding, but as long as they choose to stay, he will have to make sure he pays them properly. He as an adult is required to follow the rules of contract while they are not.

@helenaferrarifederico9862 Dhar Mann was trying to handle this situation as best as possible like I understand the payment issues, but they took it the negative way. They could've sat down with his two representatives that's a part of the company they've already known he wasn't going to be there, and they chose to walk out without even hearing the two representatives possibly meeting their demands. If I want to be a big-time actor in Hollywood, then I have to understand that in entertainment, business is not fun or sweet. There's sacrifices and missed opportunities to make it in the industry and, at times, gonna suck but you have to understand that's what comes with it. Now, did Dhar Mann know what he was doing. No,is his company a part of the toxic culture of not treating its employees, right? Yes, will it help? No Let's say if he agreed to their terms and but he terminated the actors involved in the protest. Idk I just feel like that they could have listened to what HR and the production manager had to say instead of walking out of the meeting.

As an actor who regularly sees posts for Dhar Mann’s casting calls on the usual websites and have friends who audition for them from time to time, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you dude. For context, the average day rate for a non Union film or in this case “new media” project is $125 per shoot date. Many pay less or don’t pay at all. If you have a talent agent or manager they get 10-20% (mine is 20) and the government gets another percentage because it’s a 1099 gig. You work 12 hours on average per shoot date but that does not include driving far distances (common in LA to drive an hour one way), unpaid rehearsals with the production company, unpaid rehearsals with fellow actors who simply want more practice and you want to help them out, finding your own outfits or props, etc. None of this includes the time spent on multiple auditions for one role. You could work as a non Union actor regularly and it would still be highly likely that you are making less than minimum wage

If only people gave even a tenth of the fucks they give about these internet personalities to workers across America, let alone across the world, who are in the exact same situation, some societal good might actually get done and people everywhere might get paid enough. But no, instead, let's spend all our energy on people who made their own bed and only matter because we know then from the internet. Most of them are going to get rich enough from the attention they're getting from this stunt, so I have little sympathy more for people in the same situation as me and billions of others. Workers get exploited by rich pieces of garbage who earn exorbitant profit off of the breaking backs of regular folks, aaaaaaand the floor is made of floor.

They took down the mural because the owner of the property (who Dhar rents from) had NO idea it was going up and was never told anything about it. He then demanded they remove it and they did. -I worked there last year.

He used to be big in the makeup community back in 2015-2017 with a brand called Live Glam that REGULARLY scammed their customers and worked with other make up artists who have done shady business practices.
