Justin finally catches a big flathead on a live bait & the first Kayak Catfish video I've seen where Justin's preferred bait was utterly destroyed by live baits. The world is ending.
@oldeschoolbob10223 жыл бұрын
Thank you for another great video. It's definitely an uneasy feeling sitting in a boat when it's that foggy; truly head-on-a-swivel moments. What a beautiful flathead. I find it interesting how flatheads seem to strike the bait and fight differently than the blue catfish. Of course, since I learned that from you, I now try to guess what's on the end of the line before you tell us what you think. Poor Mike; not his best day...but he seemed to take it all in stride. I think I will mosey over to his channel and have a look. Thanks again!

I'm curious. Here in Montana we only have channel cats and bullheads. Your "dinks" are a good size for a channel cat in my area. Have you ever used mudbugs (crawfish) and do they work for catfish bait in your area? I fish out of a 19' Grumman canoe with rod holders I made out of PVC plumbing parts. I enjoy watching your channel.

Great video as always, is there a reason for thumbing your line as you reel in? Never seen that done before

He doesn't have a guide for the line as he reels back in. He uses his thumb as a guide, back and forth so it reels back on the spool evenly.

Why cut the fins? Is it so they won’t spin?
@beforethunder49873 жыл бұрын
It's so the fin doesn't possibly interfere with the hook set and the line. Also serves to release more scent into the water.

I tend to do better on flatheads in the spring and fall
@wakingforbacon64393 жыл бұрын
Yeah fall Time is always the best time for flatheads. In the winter it's usually always blues and no flatheads. In the spring it's a big mixture. Summer more blues. Flatheads don't do as good in water with s warmer temp as blues can.
