High Magick by Damien Echols seems quite thorough, and his personal story is profound. He learned magick while on death row, and he credits it with his survival.

I've read Liber Null and Psychonaut; Condensed Chaos; The Chaos Protocols and Hands-on Chaos Magic. All solid books. However, by far the best beginner friendly Chaos Magick books for those wanting practical Magick are The Master Works of Chaos Magick and Magical Servitors - both published by the Gallery of Magick. The sigil techniques for creation and gnosis in Master Works just work. Really, really well. And fast if that's what you ask for. Master Works of Chaos Magick explains the only technique that actually helped me achieve an altered state of consciousness through chanting. Turns out some phrases ARE better than others.

I adore Braiding Sweetgrass! I'm about to graduate with my bachelor's in Environmental Science and I work in an ecosystem ecology lab, and this book checks every box for me scientifically and spiritually. It's gorgeously written, and it's taking me months to get through because I'll read a little bit then have to mull it over for a few days. I think you'll love it!

@@IvyTheOccultist that’s ok! Libby is great! But, at least in Australia, it doesn’t have a big selection of occult books. Scribd has a huuuge selection of Occult books. Their pricing is different to audible in that you pay a monthly fee and then you have access to all of the ebooks and audiobooks. Whereas with audible, you pay a monthly fee and then get 1-2 credits to use towards an audiobook per month. (In case you weren’t familiar with either)

Hi Ivy, thankyou for bringing my attention to "SPIRIT MARRIAGE" . Im aleady in the process of writing a book on this subject, and been looking for books that speak from different points of view on this subject. I really cant thank you enough! the only other book Ive run into on this subject specifically was Donald Tyson's "Sex With Spirits" (I hope that is the right title, dont kill me if its not, lol) . Is there a way i can do high magic without angels and Christ ?
@IvyTheOccultist2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I'm sure most ceremonial magicians would say no because angels play a huge role in a lot of high magick practices. However, there are a few (such as planetary magick or the hermetic Qabalah) where you don't necessarily have to work with angels. And you certainly don't have to work with Christ. I was never into working with angels either, so I did a lot of my high magick practice without that component.
@thanostimestone6813 Жыл бұрын
High magic 1 and 2 would be better off reading Eliphas Lévi doctrine and practice as well as dogma and ritual of high magic 1 and 2. If you haven’t read any of the greater and lesser keys of Solomon or you find it confusing you might have an issue with them. But Levi was the basis of Anton LaVey who twisted Levi and Crowley (The book of Thoth and Liber 777) into his own religion so he didn’t have to pay taxes since he could call himself a preacher and his home a temple. Trust me I have studied his work and the man just wanted his ego to be stroked. He was worse than Crowley in requiring recognition and respect. Purely about himself. Spirit told me to stop reading the satanic bible as well as the necronomicon. After reading another occultist (I lost the book I wish I remembered what it was because it tore down the church of satanism with eastern philosophy and Egyptian philosophy) but it really put the satanic faith into my bad realm if you know what I mean. I have studied the goetia and its properties compared to LaVey. I’m telling you Solomonic magic had it right in comparison with LaVey.

You read through books… and return them? That’s highly unfair to authors. Use the library (and you can get ANY book you want via the Interlibrary Loan program, please ask about it). But authors definitely deserve to make a living and reading their work only to then return it is highly unfair.

@IvyTheOccultist2 жыл бұрын
Oh no, I am definitely not buying books and then returning them afterwards! Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Just to clarify: I typically don't return books. And after rewatching my video, I can see how my communication wasn't effective here. I am keeping all the ones I purchase unless for some reason a book is particularly disappointing. (Which again, I'm picky about what books I purchase so that doesn't happen often at all.) I only meant that, usually I do quite a bit of research before purchasing books. But in this one instance, I bought 4 chaos magick books without knowing too much about them. I don't plan to return any books, but I'm glad you said something so that I could clarify what I meant by that statement 😊 Not to worry!
