Controversy aside (agree with the impossibility of tracking irregular/illegal activity of brands), the video is quite inspirational when it comes to create art. When coloring in with colored pencils, always color in circles rather than straight lengths. You’ll get a smoother appearance.

Hey Pearfleur! I wanted to ask why you draw the flowers first, then the dark background? I thought it'd be easier to paint the background first (not on top of the flower sketch, just around) and then paint the flowers? I love your videos so much and learn a lot

Hi, Great question! Because they’re watercolors and so transparent, painting the light colors on top of a dark background would have shown very weakly (ex. yellow watercolors on top of a dark blue background wouldn’t show that well & could potentially reactivate and lift the darker color off the page). The technique I used is called negative painting if you want to look that up and see great examples of this!
