I'm right handed crank left hand. The right hand is the power arm for the fishing rod much easier to keep the fish under control.

I find it refreshing, and dig that you are multi-species fisherman and not afraid to target the crappies and even catch n cook. This is how I grew up, on the crappies and walleyes (trips to Wisconsin). Nothing wrong with it! So many guys and gals are "largemouth bass only" fisherman and I think that is their prerogative but limiting themselves. I have become more of a largemouth and smallmouth bass guy (especially creek smallies in the summer and fall via the kayak), but still times when I target the crappies on lakes.

Justin I love your channel. I can no longer fish due to being run over by a Cadillac in 2015. I really enjoy the diversity of your videos. Bass, crappie, elk, squirrels, deer and of course the catch, clean & cooks. Have you ever seen a bass boat for someone who is disabled? I wished there was more content on the Lake Family channel.

Justin, Zataran's has a Blackened Seasoning mix that I one on baked orange roughly. I also add a bit of Tony Chaxherie's Creple cause I like it hot. Half melted butter and half EVOO as a dredge and than grill on a castbiron griddle at highest heat for blackened fish too. Use Cavendars Greek seasoning for Emmie's to start and because to cook hers first. Filets cook in a 1.5 to 2 min/side.

I only use left side crank on a spinning reel because I cast with my right hand. I didn’t like switching back and forth. Now with my casting reels I use a right side crank. I can cast and switch to left hand during the cast so the transfer is quicker than a spinning reel.

When I was a kid (50)years ago we would go down to the creek and catch those little catfish(mud cats) and cut the head off and gut em and washed it in the muddy creek. Then get water and dirt and mix up some mud and put it all over the fish and stick it in the coles when the mud turns dry the fish is done and just tap the dirt and it pulls the skin off with but b sure to take salt
