To be fair, his League team did win against EG for the championship. They just weren't given a chance to become a franchise team which is essentially the only way an esports team can justify a challengers team in terms of profitability considering it is already hard enough to find advertisers and sponsors for franchise teams. DSG is truly the peoples esports org, and that has got to be worth something.

I think a good way to hand the situation would be for some kind of redemption/apology tournament to be held for all the teams that got screwed over by the cheaters, and have the winner of that do a show-match with the Evil Geniuses. Least that's what I think.

Can't do that to Evil geniuses, as much as it sucks for DSG, EG did nothing wrong and anything that would further put an asterisk on the tournament is unfair to the players on EG. It's also a bit of a lucky break for Riot that EG ended up against DSG anyway, it takes out the idea that EG only won because DSG got taken out by cheaters. It's far from fair, but like Toast said, shit happens, punish the cheaters, remember it as fans and support DSG all the more.

It's kind of unfair prize money wise, but tbf, they lost against the final winner of the tournament in the 2nd game, so the likelihood of them actually winning the tournament was extremely low.

Can they not offer some form of compensation for teams who were eliminated by them, split based on how far that team reached? It's not a perfect solution but at least it's something. I'm kind of surprised that a player with basically 0 confirmed identity was able to get into the tournament. I suspect that future tourneys will likely be stricter in proving your identity, but hopefully there aren't any kneejerk changes that hurt small teams that are actually legit.

What are you talking about? Not only LoL? How often do you see cheaters in ranked or competitive compared to other games? Almost none. And Valorant has been out only few years and you rarely get to see cheaters. Riot has done the best job out of all the companies, but sadly rare occasions happen, aspecially in a game that has not even been an Esport for more than 3 years.

Has nothing to do with Riot really, once there is enought money in it, there will be cheaters Just look at actual sports and how some athletes get caught 10 years after the fact just because the testing technology finally caught up. Hacking can be pretty disguised 😞 so it's pretty hard to find and clearly the hacks are pretty well built since I think Valorant has access to all your files and see the details of all files in your computer so it's rare that hacks can bypass

looks like headlock cheat where when the reticle is close enough to the enemies head it will autolock on their head. when you go frame by frame on those sus clips he always flicks towards an enemy player but never directly on their heads and then after he does the flick a little movement happens where the reticle snaps onto their head.

Competitive online play is an arms race between cheaters and anti-cheat detection. No matter how good thier system is there's always going to be someone trying to get around it.

Even both of us can create a bypass if we're good at programming, riot just have to game up their anti-cheat detection like some other games do. (I'm a retired cheat programmer) creating a cheat at a popular game last 2 years ago.

The correct way to solve this is to have an unofficial tournament (maybe off screen so it would be faster to organize) and have all of those played by noot noot in the open qualifiers do a single elimination or double elimination. The winner will then have to fight DSG. The winner of the elimination vs DSG will then fight Complexity Gaming for the quarter finals. However, as we know, Riot won't get anything from this so, probably it will not happen even if it's the correct way to go about this. If Riot cares about the players of their games, we already have a new map for League of Legends but still no so I don't have a minuscule of hope that Riot would do the right thing for the teams lost against Noot Noot.

watching death cams and team mates you can tell when someone is going from headshot to headshot with no footsteps, checking 1/30 corners only when players are at the corners and not checking 29/30 corners that have no players. running from 1 kill to the next, 10-15 times in a row. You take the humanity out of it. there is no time to react, there is no fear of running into a room and checking corners because you already know where everyone is

​@@asuraXTC not for open qualifiers thats just not reasonable anyone can sign up to get flown out by riot?? theres 64 teams of 6 each so around 350-400 people thats just not reasonable not to mention people wouldnt be able to attend and it would be hard to coordinate, they have to test for covid/ sickness etc etc

Before esports really became big. I used to be one of the few girls who was on a team in COD2 for CAL, OGL, and TWL. It wasn't fun being a female in competitive play at the time. Glad more options are opened up for women. Thank you Toast!
