Stokes in for Curran and Moeen Ali for Woakes. 2 spinners are a must. Root can chip in a couple of overs depending upon the situation. Topley and Wood got to play. And with Moeen and Stokes in, Mr.Buttler can bat at ease to bring out his best.

The bowling is way too ordinary in these conditions that they depend on their batters getting a ton of runs… The problem with that is, these wickets are not going to be flat roads, so their batting can’t do what they usually do… players like Linvingstone also lack the game to negotiate spinners in these conditions.

this might sound weird but i feel robinson would be a good bowler for them the guy can reverse the bowl and the pitches will slow down from now on which means they need that kind of proponent to fill the gaps in bowling also i feel malan should bat in the middle not top and brook should open that would fix half the problems they are having

Whether they accept it or not but the issue is one they have had for years in all formats. They just cannot play spin and then their own attack is just not suited for conditions here. Secondly, they will also realise soon that they were a bit lucky in last World Cup that they won and are not as good as they believe they are away from home in spinning conditions. Winning a home world cup is good but both India and Australia did it before them in 2011 and 2019.

Biggest upset was India defeating previous 2 time champions West Indies on 9 June 1983 in Manchester. They went to win the title which was another massive upset. This English team is no match for that west indies team

All the other big teams like aus, sa, nz came to india and won Odi's against india, but eng always got rocked in the last 7 years.

About the great bat by opener Gubaru getting run out and then getting mad as hell, he should have refused that run asked by his skipper the very first ball he faced. Is it because of afghan conservative society not educating girls, just obey your skipper whatever he says even when he's utterly wrong in this run out situation asking for an impossible run

Englands decision to bowl first was very much flawed..england could have batted first , they could secure 250 against afgani fiery batsmen..but chasing decision against strong bowling..becomes tough when you have to chase above 250.. so i think england should have targeted afganistans weak link which is batting .

It is so disrespectful to Afghanistan to term this an upset. Zimbabwe beating Australia. In 1983, Kenya beating West Indies in 1996 were upsets. This was not an upset. Afghanistan is equal to most teams.. They may not be able to do it consistently for now..but they match up well against any team. It is incredibly demeaning to even have this as part of a debate on the biggest upset. It's 8th ranked team beating a 5th ranked team. Lesson for all the teams to go in with five proper bowlers… instead of hoping to make do with 10-15 overs from bits and pieces cricketers… Australia relying on Maxwell to bowl 10 overs is suicidal.. India too have been lucky that they haven’t been found out…. If they are going to play Shardul in place of Shami or Ashwin against a strong team like SA, more often than not, they will lose ….
