HUGE Yellow Jacket Wasp Nest INFESTATION | Wasp Nest Removal

This Yellow Jackets Nest was in someone's home, swarming around their front door. This nest house over 2000 wasps! As the wasps swarmed me, I took the nest apart and bagged it up. Once getting it home, I put it in my refrigerator to put the wasps into a state of suspended animation, and then they would die from the cold. The nest was then taken outside and fed to my chickens!

@@HornetKingOfficial Today a queen yellow jacket got into my house when my mom was bringing in the groceries. Instead of killing her like the old me would’ve probably done, the new me scooped her up in a paper cup and drove her out in the country and sent her free. It made me feel so good as she crawled away! It was things to you that I learned so much about them that I do things a little differently now! :-)

Sorry for the loss of your father. Then you mentioned the other animals that I came to love watching this channel. Ginger and the squirrel, the way the squirrel ate them🥹… Could you find a way to include more good footage of different animals eating the grubs. It’s always so satisfying after watching the removal. Thanks for your hard work doing all these videos.

I'm sorry to hear about Belle squirrel...my condolences there. I'd known about Ginger, Humphrey, and had been wondering about Goosey, your turkey. Thank you very much for the update on her. You did the right thing re-homing here given what you described. It's awesome that she's with your neighbor and her turkeys - so you can still see her occasionally. Take care and best wishes to you and the family.

Oh man, this reminded me of the one time I removed a huge cluster of red wasp nests that had sneakily nested inside a decorative wood window cover at my home. I'm usually very adamant in removing the pests whenever I see them spawning, but for years I wondered why every time I took one comb down, two more would spawn? Well, they were all having reinforcements coming from the motherbase, lolz. One night, a sixpack and enough chemicals, I went ham on them. Afterwards, with the motherbase down, their spawn rates have been far, far more manageable over the following years. It's amazing to see how crafty and sneaky these insects can get in their choice of habitat.

I'm so sorry about Ginger. Chickens are such awesome pets. So much personality. I've got a question... we live in a mobile home community and of course have yellow jacket nest all around our Park. We live in Boulder County Colorado. The last couple of years we have had some pretty large nests they built underneath our stairs. Two years ago, 2020 we had a pretty large Nest under our back stairs. We would walk past that area to take our dogs out. Within one week my husband was stung first, I was stung the next day. The one that stung me actually hooked onto the side of my hand and was stinging and biting me at the same time. A third day one of our dogs was stung. I finally found the nest of course and took a couple of weeks to get rid of it. I would love to check under the stairs and see what it looks like at some point. Last year 2021 we had a pretty large Nest under our front staircase where we walk out of. They were not quite as aggressive as the other ones were and we walked past them more than we did The Back Stairs so I don't know what was up with that. A few weeks to totally get rid of that nest. We put a couple of those hanging traps up and they worked really well. I noticed a couple of different sizes. We also have an apple tree that had a huge crop last year yard was full of apples and Yellowjackets everywhere oh, they were coming from all around the park not just our nest. I was wondering why there was a different in the sizes Ella jackets that queer caught in the traps. The first ones were really large and then towards the end of the summer early fall they were smaller. Do you know why that might be? I didn't know if they were in a different group of yellow jacket or if they were from the same group and just smaller because of age or type of worker or forager or if they were just juvenile. I've tried Google but was not very successful at getting any information. Appreciate your help if you have time to get back to me no rush at Really appreciate and enjoy watching your videos. They are absolutely fantastic creatures and such hard workers. Their nests are absolutely fascinating. Their engineering skills incredible. We have bentonite clay here in our part of Colorado at least so I've I have not encountered an underground nest, I'm guessing because the clay is so unstable when it rains or snows. The ones up in the awnings do not get very large or detailed. Unfortunately I do have to euthanize those. Also thank you so much for your love for all of your Critters. I just absolutely adore them. My husband and I are big animal lovers ourselves. Thanks again and look forward to hearing about the size difference. God bless you and your family and y'all take care!!! Oh!! I'm originally from Texas and have never seen a bald-faced hornet in my life until the past 3 or 4 years. When our apple tree gets a good crop, will you stay in quite a few. Those are some scary looking bugs. I have a great photo of one eating a rotten apple, lol.

I was thinking about how uninformed about wasps and hornets until I started to watch your channel. I have a greater appreciation for the things they do in nature and that we should just leave them alone unless they are creating a problem(that or if someone is allergic to them). I was watching a video where people were saying that hornets make honey in the comments section and wanted to bang my head into the desk. I saw all the hate they get and thought about what you have said. They were talking about how all wasps and hornets are just like the Japanese giant hornet. I wanted to beat my head into a wall when I saw people talk about how they think every species of wasps and hornets need to be wiped out without realizing their role in the natural world. Thank you for what you teach us through your videos and show us what we don't see. Also, found a book that made me think of you called The Sting of the Wild.

I just discovered your videos and I must say what you do is pretty badass. I saw the video where you had a squirrel on your knee and fed it by hand. I'd die for such an experience.

You mentioned people not noticing when a colony is first forming because there's not that much activity. I look for ground nests in late spring by going to different spots in our yard, stooping down, and doing a 360 degree scan of the area just above the ground. If I see flying insect activity pretty much in an up and down pattern I take a closer look at that spot. Usually by late spring there's enough worker activity to be noticeable. Occasionally in early spring I'll spot a single yellow jacket heading down into the grass and find a hole where she is just starting to set up shop.
