Hi - I am living in Brisbane, Australia now but my Uncle and Aunt used to live at 29 Haddon Road, Blackpool (Bispham) and I can remember wonderful holidays with them in Blackpool - they were also the owners of Crescent Cafe, Cleveleys - they were bakers and confectioners. I dont know whether you have been up Haddon Road, but I would really appreciate it if you can. Thank you very much.

The missing bricks, I watched a live stream from the Netherlands and they took up a bricked pavement did the work and put the bricks back down and you wouldn't even know they've dug a hole, Over here you'll get a dip in the pavement for puddles as they'll just thrown it back together, the missing bricks on the prom have probably been taken back to the yard for ""Safe Keeping"" patio building season soon spring is on it's way.

Another interesting video about Blackpool. Thank you. As a bit of a railway nerd, I did spot a bit of an error regarding Blackpool Central Station though - it was not closed due to the recommendation of controversial British Railways chairman Dr Richard Beeching - in fact he proposed retaining Blackpool Central as Blackpool’s main railway station and closing Blackpool North instead ! It was actually Blackpool Council (or Blackpool Corporation as it was then) that wanted to close central station and redevelop the station site and its extensive sidings and approach tracks for other purposes. They lobbied the government and British Railways hard and were successful in getting Blackpool Central Station closed down, with the smaller and much less convenient Blackpool North retained as the town’s main station. I wonder whether things would have been better for Blackpool if Beeching had prevailed, and Central Station was still Blackpool’s main station today? Academic now, but an interesting thing to think about.
@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool4 күн бұрын
Thanks for the info. I'm sure it would have been a better station, and Blackpool North would have been much more valuable land to develop.

Hi Stephen, I've never been to Blackpool before and enjoy your Blackpool content. Whenever I see the Blackpool Tower and ballroom, I can't figure out the logistics of it! I mean is the Blackpool Tower built on top of the balloon roof or is the balloon built around the base of the Blackpool tower? It's one strong roof if the tower is perched on top of the balloon roof😂
@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool3 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching. The Tower Ballroom runs down the left hand side of the Tower Building, lengthways from the prom to Bank Hey Street. It is to one side of the structure, whilst the Tower Circus is directly underneath.

Hey there Stephen David from Cromer here It's Monday 27th January and about 2 hours ago we had the mother of all hail fall lasted for just under 10 minutes couple of thunder rumbles too It was so heavy it's now coming up for 4 o clock and it's settled like snow Awesome weather The sky went a very dark grey Now it's blue sky sunshine like nothing happened Glad you guys didn't suffer any major damage Just got a bit windy here but being where we are it's usually breezy on the calmest of days Cheers for the film I have learnt so much about Blackpool in the last 4 years it's really interesting for me I'm always on Google checking stuff out You know if this tech had been around when I took my exams in 1984 I'd be a don at Cambridge university now It's no wonder the pass rates are so high If they had to use books and a good memory today The pass rate would be very low Me personally I miss the old life but the tech is brilliant if in the right hands and used for the right reasons Have a good one stay safe ❤️😎🏐🥅⚽🤯
