Good Morning Stephen. There was rather a lot of Structural Damage but by sheer Luck, nobody got Injured or Died from the Powerful Winds that blew through Blackpool. Even what has just happened, i am very sure that Blackpool will brush themselves off, and start to re-build and become a Beautiful Sea Side Destination again. Very Well Done to You Stephen for going out and making a Incredible video of the Powerful Winds creating a Sand Storm. I really Hope that your Foot is starting to recover now. You are Feeling much better now. Look after yourself. Jonathan/ Peterborough.

Hi Stephen I was visiting with my mum over the wknd and got stuck on a tram just before the north pier when the prom got closed and trams stopped. We were stuck for half an hour on the tram. They then let us off but it was quite scary actually. My mum uses a mobility aid and we really struggled to cross the road, trying to hold on to her and her walker. I had to pin her up against a lamp post to stop the traffic to cross, we can laugh about it now 😂 we were supposed to go to see the funny girls but we just couldnt manage under the conditions sadly and we’re already running late due to being stuck on the tram. We managed to jump in a taxi back to Craig Y Don, it was a relief to get back, we enjoyed watching the high waves come over to the road into the early hours, it was quite a sight and experience. Really enjoy your channel and thought we might have seen you on our travels, maybe next time. 👋

The tent says it all, In days of old when it was sunny in your heart and the beer was cheap the lads decided to have a weekend at Littlesea Weymouth, It was a gale when we got there and rain to suit, we tried our best to put the tents up being blokes but failed and slept in the cars and two of then was real Mini's and after that tents were out. Another great look around Blackpool.

These high winds are nothing new. Only since naming the storms, therefore sensationalising them have they become high profile. Born in 1965 in Blackpool. Lived on Alexandra Road, Albert Road and Napier Avenue. Got the tram to school and work. Was horizontal against the wind many a time, with my cookery basket, in the high wind running for my morning tram. I was in Blackpool last night.... experienced worse.

I think it's just a case of it being a dull day. The colours of the yellow tram and the red and yellow amusement signs stood out but everything else did look rather drab but there didn't seem to be much ambient light about.

Wrong type of sand on the tracks!!
@srfurley13 сағат бұрын
When the tramway was first electrified it collected current from a conduit between the rails. They changed to an overhead wire because the conduit filled with sand. There is a short length of conduit track preserved in the disused Kingsway tram subway in London.
