Welcome to Humankind Cultures of Oceania, the latest DLC expansion for Humankind adding six new cultures, wonders, and more! One of a few free updates this year, and likely the best one in Bonny & Pirates, alongside the paid Cultures of Oceania make this Humankind's most exciting year three development for 2023! In this video I'll review the Cultures of Oceania DLC (granted, I might be a little bias here). I'll give you a quick strategy guide and overview for each new culture from Maori to New Zealand, and then move through to giving them approximate NEW tier list ranks - working as an addition to my other Ultimate Humankind Tier List videos, and providing a new cultures tier list for Humankind! Nice Humankind does a great job with the Art. It always takes me out a bit in other games like civ 6 and I get a musketeer as China or Maya and its just a European looking guy.

This Humankind Update really fixed a lot of the problems I had with the game. Went to give it a spin and played for 10 hours straight, followed by another 3 the next day to finish the game. Very promising!

Polynesia is S tier. Having that special boat unit before anyone else can even get into the deep water is such a massive advantage for exploration. You can gobble up all the curiosities in deep water because there's no competition.

It would have been crazy if the pama-nungyan culture had a unit that reflected how formalised and unique warfare was in that region

It would be awesome if you could do a tier list of all cultures and wonders that are currently in the game. I still like to watch you tier lists for the original (no dlc) version of the game, but an updated list would be awesome.

AOTEROA IN GAMES LETS GOOO kiaora humankind for giving us our own cultural representation. especially separating modern and pre colonial Aoteroa. one day we will get a lands war game about holding off the british through our trenches and amazing defensiveness. nz total war anyone ?

Hey jumbo, I've been binging your civ 6 content the last three weeks, as someone about to start playing I've noticed a gap in your tutorials and guides also missing from the other channels I've been watching. A quick ten minute guide to victory types for new players. You could highlight key techs, wonders, policy's, congress decisions etc for each just to give us a rough idea of what to look out for or aim for. Might be useless to existing players but as someone about to start playing it would be really helpful. Vast majority of civ 6 live streams and lets plays end in science and dom. A few culture ones but I have yet to see a religion or diplomatic one. Cheers mate.

I haven’t played a game of Humankind in a while, I’m going to have to play again soon. New Zealand does look like a fun culture to try.

I just got base Humankind on 80% sale for only: £8. And for what I payed for it, after all the updates it's okay. It's generally more interesting and fun than reviews suggest. It has flaws, but I think many people look, play and expect this game to be like Civ. It's not Civ and once you accept that reality the game becomes it's own thing and you can respect what they're trying to do with it. I have played great games, okay games, and garbage games. I've been a critic of Humankind for a while, but after playing it I can say now in September of 2023 the game is playable and if gotten on a decent sale worth it. Just be ready to accept that it's not Civ or Old World. But do be cautious with the Full on expansion though, I heard the new diplomacy and diplomatic units can be quite unfair and game breaking, and not enjoyable, But I can't really say about it since I only brought the basic game.

I feel like the ability for the Polynesians to reach the New World in the Classical Era (2 eras ahead of everyone else except for the Vikings in the Medieval Era) can make them S-tier.

I bought the expansion today, even though I haven't played Humankind in quite a while (since before the last expansion). I skipped the Together We Rule expansion because I thought its new mechanics would make the game worse, not better. Hopefully this expansion still works if I don't have the previous one, as it looks interesting and the price was reasonable. With this and the update that just dropped I might have to dust it off again.

@@likeaboss3160 I didn't notice crashes during gameplay (I played only about 300/350 turns max in a single run though), but the UI sometimes gives me troubles with the tooltips and the game crashes when pressing L2 or R2 during the avatar customization. Nothing gamebreaking but pretty annoying, it needs a bit of polishing for sure (I'm on PS5)

Not sure if I want to give them more money at this point. The lack of updates really killed the potential of this game. Edit: Thanks for covering Humankind news though!
