I am one of those young guys that love these kind of movies in 1980. Me and my best friend saw it at a drive in in Sarasota, smoked some herb and absolutely loved it. We watched it again on cable and still loved it

My mom busted me watching this movie on late night HBO back in 82 and freaked!!! Good times lol Thanks for posting

Did your Mom bust you at the very moment when the *cReAtuReS* were inseminating ideal human females? I would have imagined you had a lot of explaining to do.

Just learned of Roger Corman's passing (May 9, 2024). A lot of major players in Hollywood got their start with him; Francis Ford Coppola James Cameron, Peter Bogdanovich. Martin Scorsese etc. RIP Roger. The world of entertainment, and those of us who were entertained, thank you!👏

2:45, that's the same guy who was interviewed for the documentary about the Island of Dr. Moreau from the 90s as he was brought in when Frankenheimer got involved as Richard Stanley left.

Would love to see an NC-17 reboot of this. This time the creatures are smarter, faster, stronger, hornier. And this time, they invade the sunny beaches teeming with bikini-clad girls during spring break. 😉

It probably would have happened in the 90s, (fuck the 1996 one) b/c the 2000s DEFINITELY would have been way to sensitive about the subject matter

Corman's talking bull, the rapes in this flick ARE pretty graphic.

Fun fact: a remake was planned in 2003 with Scarjo as Peggy and Jennifer love hewitt as Ms. Salmon, but the plans fell through-we were robbed boys

Imagine Love Hewitt in that black skimpy outfit with a Tiara while a huge green humanoid monster chases her for something other than carnivorous intent...

Its pretty neat that a big cheese composure like James Horner took time to talk about this cornball movie

It "borrows" a lot from Horror of Party Beach 1964.

Perhaps a film most find the basic premise a bit disturbing. The Creature from the Black Lagoon - just a lot more rapey.

Its an American film that's trying to be an Italian film trying to be an American film! It was good fun though, a proper 80s exploitation flick with OTT fx and some iffy foley work. A great bonkers movie.

That’s a brilliant description of the film.

Fascinating. We're not allowed to make films like this today. I hope the stuck in the butt is promptly removed from cinema soon. 😅

I also feel like it was not fair to ruin Babra's film because if they had what Barbra had it could have been more successful,I also feel like she felt guilty shouting women nude and that offended her in away. STUPID ROGER CORMAN !!!
@nicholasdickens28012 жыл бұрын
Yes this film ruined the directors career - and years later they fessed up.
@generic3520 Жыл бұрын
Actually, Roger is a Stanford University Engineering grad.....he's far from stupid. And it wasn't "Barbara's film" it was Roger's film. Barb *worked for* Roger. Barbara was either very stupid, or naïve beyond belief, to think that this film would turn out to be anything other than what it was.

@@promnightdumpsterbaby9553 That’s not guts that’s shity like the not paying the bill is bad. Because if they don’t pay it some one local has to and it’s a big chunk of change
