Humble Choice November 2023 Review

This month, as you said, is both bad and great for me. No inbetweens. 3 pass (WWE, SCP, Friends vs Friends), 3 wishlist (Souldiers, Shipbreaker, Tianding), Unpacking kinda meh, and Prodeus honey biscuit I'm gonna love this so much. WWE is such a poor joke, I don't need to say more. SCP I just don't like the concept much, and horror for the sake of it is meh. FvF is a multiplayer game. Souldiers I know it was mixed before patches, but I still feel like I can enjoy it a lot. Shipbreaker is chill and fun. Tianding seems quite tasteful and fun gameplay.

Didn't know that about Souldiers, but I can see that. It usually seems like gameplay tends to lack when visuals are great. Good to hear it had patches though! I didn't really notice anything when playing myself. As far as SCP, I'm not so sure it's horror. I'd say it's more of a collection of the strange and weird and sometimes that includes humor but it doesn't always necessarily mean horror. Take of that what you will though. That's great that you managed to snag three off your wishlist! That's always a good month in my book. Hopefully, that trend continues for you into next month.

Well, I know this is being pessimistic, but I don't expect much from December. I think historically (or at least these past couple years) Humble doesn't do much for the end of the year. Probably because of all the big sales that are going on. They usually pull out their big guns for January to attract new customers and I'd guess to snag year long subscriptions.

Oh yeah, definitely. I don't think Humble Choice is ever a matter of money. It's almost always a great deal. It's just whether or not the games in the bundle are going to be something worth playing for the individual. I think most people just see if there's a couple games they recognize and maybe want to play to determine if they'll get the bundle or not. Or at least I know that's what I used to do. Since I started reviewing these, I've found that usually the bundle has a lot more value to it than I ever originally thought even if I don't have the time to play each game completely.

Always an event that after a monthly there is one of your video! Weirdly for once I do not seem to dislike any game here, except for one, that I wouldn't say I dislike, but can definitely see it being a pain : Friends vs Friends. As a completionist I am not a huge fan of always online games because they require to take priority often and since I've never heard of it before, I can definitely see that it has a timer put on it's head, which is unfortunate because it seems interesting. Now for the rest I do not think we're reaching any heights but nothing that seem horrible either. I can clearly see that for those that do not have any interest to complete their games why this month would be quite bad though, as most games here are quite obscure. Anyway thanks for your work and let's hope that next month is better, it is december after all, december has to be good.

Thanks! And hope you can find some enjoyment with at least a few of these games this month. I hope next month is good, but I'm not holding my breath. These last couple years (if I recall properly) the December showing has been fairly weak. I'm assuming it's because of the holiday sales and because Humble usually tries to bring out the great bundle in January to bring people in. Probably for the potential impulse buyers for year-long subscribers they snag.

@@StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews To be honest, I was happy to see The Legend of Tian Ding in it, a bit like you it seems, Prodeus seems to be quite interesting as well, I'm curious but Doom was never my favorite FPS, I'm more of a GoldenEye, TimeSplitter, Wolfenstein, Metro kind of guy, those are my favorite FPS, maybe I forget one. That's not to say that I do not like Doom cause I still like it, but maybe not as much as everyone else. Unpacking is a short game, and short games in this day and age are always welcome in my book. And all the others seems to be quite interesting as well, I used to watch WWE as a kid, but it has been a long time since then, but I still remember some wrestlers like Shawn Michaels, Triple H, or Rick Flair. So this should be maybe interesting to me, as long as the game doesn't ask you to put money on the table straight away. Well, I tend to have weird tastes so maybe I'll enjoy more a weak month than others will, I hope at least! haha Your reasoning make sense though. Sorry for the insanely long read, I tend to always type too much.

@@froggedwolfgaming For me it was Wolfenstein. I never played the original Doom until much later and by then it was too dated for me. Besides Woflenstein, I think the other old school FPS games for me were GoldenEye, Turok, and I suppose Half Life is probably old enough to throw in there as well. Yeah, I've never really followed WWE. It was big when I was in grade school, but I never cared for it. I think if we're purely talking fighting sports then I'd much prefer boxing or MMA as I actually know a bit more about those. Actually, if we were to get a sports game again (which I kinda hope we don't) then I wouldn't mind a really good tennis game. Was a big fan of tennis back in the day. I know that doesn't seem to be as popular though.

@@StealthyshiroeanHumbleReviews Boxing and MMA are fine I guess, to be honest I play mostly anything, but since the last MMA game still won't release on PC, at least last time I've heard about it, we might not see that soon. As for boxing games, i do not even know if there is anything big nowadays, there was Ready 2 Rumble back in the days that I personally liked a lot, but that serie is dead now. Tennis games are fun to play imo, I'm not a big Tennis fan, but I know games are often very fun, especially in versus, you can have a good laugh with a friend I think.

Yup, that's how it works! Also, another thing to note is that they auto-charge you near the end of the current month, not the beginning. So, if you forget to unsubscribe when the next month rolls around then you have a little bit of time to make sure that you're unsubscribed.

I like most of these games except WWE and Friends vs Friends, but I still think is a meh month honestly is hard to justify buying this one when I have a huge backlog of hundreds upon hundreds of games that I need to play, buying this is just adding more to my eternal pile of unplayed games. I reaaally need to stop buying new games, it is truly becoming a problem lol.

Heh, I get it. That's something that's mentioned a lot. And I completely agree. I have way too many games. It's funny because when I was a kid, I had like 4 games that I could actually play. Now I have hundreds and most of them have never been played. All that said, maybe next month will have some stuff to convince you to keep feeding the problem haha
