I don't know... but I find humming birds closer to magic than reality. They are so majestic
@bhawnasiddhar203 жыл бұрын
I just found a tiny nest of humming birds which is not completely built-up yet but I saw that a humming bird comes over there after every few minutes with a little piece of cotton or tiny dry grasses in her beak, after that I also helped her by scattering some little pieces of cotton near over there on the ground and she picked that too🥰Now I m happy that she is constructing her nest in the portico of my house. It's so cute and creative 😍.

Relaxing outside while watching, studying and interacting with them, yes, interacting! After they figured out that I cleaned and filled their feeders they loved to come visit and play around me as I sat at the patio table. They would frequently buzz up to my face and hover right in front of my eyes and nose. I eventually figured out that they were thanking me for taking care of them! They had all kinds of other ways to get my attention and 'bother' me. Dive bombing and buzzing my hair were two others. Always making that half chirp half chittér sound . I'm in a nursing home in another state now but I'll n never forget those days.

Hummingbirds are some of the most fascinating creatures on this earth (in my humble opinion). My fascination with them began and grew when I moved to southern California (and stayed for 25 years). I kind of became a hummingbird freak wanting to learn everything I could about these tiny complex and beautiful creatures. Over the years and several houses I got closer to my little buddies by increasing the amount of feeders and relaxig

I have watched hummingbirds All of my life. Grandma's feeder would be swarmed with them waiting their turn. I fed hummingbirds since we moved into this home. We can sit about three feet from them, and they will land and eat. They do not wait so patient. Last year, we had a nest in our gazebo. Stunning!!! This year, as soon as I saw the first one of the season, we checked. I do not know if they are the same birds, who built the nest, but Hummingbirds are using the SAME nest this year. I am in Complete Awe and when my grandkids see it, they have no problem, leaving the gazebo for the birds.

I was fortunate enough to spy the beginnings of a hummingbird's nest from the perfect ’movie screen'. Nature on the other side of a huge plate glass windo in a building inoutw. I was working in an office building on the third floor with glass windows as one of the walls in front of me. One day a co-worker pointed it out to me! She was working on the nest in an oak tree visible from my desk! I caught glimpses of what she was doing as I worked and eventually everything was done. I didn't see the babies leave the nest (th ey were so so tiny and I did get to see her feeding them too) but the nest was abandoned one day when Iooked out and I assumed the cycle of life had been completed. How cool!

It is so beautiful to watch. Can anyone say what size the nest is? Looks like there’s no protection for the eggs/chicks when mother is off the nest. Always amazes me how different nests are. Some are so protected from elements and intruders and some like this little one are exposed. Mystery of nature.

We recently an incredibly windy night, with gusty winds which toppled many trees, and I was scared that the hummingbird's nest was sure to have been a casualty of the winds. When I awoke the next day, there she was, sitting calmly on her eggs, as if nothing had happened.

This is a perfect example of how no one life form is entirely more advanced than another. For example Humans are obviously more technologically advanced than hummingbirds but hummingbirds are more advanced in precision. Some non Humans may be more technologically advanced than Humans but Humans may be more creatively and intuitively more advanced than certain non human species. All life forms are advanced in different ways. There is and is not just one way to be. Life is Life and All is All.
