Would it be possible for you to put out a basic parts list of what it took to do this swap?
@tossthewrench3 жыл бұрын
Good idea. I'll try to put together a basic parts list for the swap and find a place to post it.

Looks good bro! Kleen strip is what I used . Made a video of it. The one you have doesn't look like the one I used tho. put heavy coat and then wash off after 30 min . Dry and re apply. should start making the paint soft and a razor blade scraper can take it off.

Yeah I tried 2 versions on the kleen strip. It worked in some places but not others. I'm using it in certain areas where the paint is just too bad to try to sand it all out. It's coming along, just slowly.

@@tossthewrench the black paint was a mf to take off. lol Looks like I ordered the same heater as you but mine has the ac core in it. Are you not going with ac now?
@tossthewrench3 жыл бұрын
Yes it is! I have a seperate unit for the ac. That is going in an overhead system I designed that goes between the a and b pillars above the trans tunnel.

@@tossthewrench Oh ok cool. The one I found was like $115 on Amazon it actually fits perfectly down by the floor board where the humvee heater core was . Most likely going to run a dual ac in the truck with another unit for the rear.

The CARC paint was design to protect it from that paint stripper :D
@tossthewrench3 жыл бұрын
Yep, literally stands for Chemical Agent Resistant Coating and it definitely resists the paint remover! I had heard that some people had good luck with theirs so I figured I would give it a shot.

@@tossthewrench I just sanded down the parts that were cracked and then primed over it. It takes paint really well.
