Hundreds stranded without food in Greece floods - BBC News

In Greece hundreds of people are stranded without food or water after a devastating storm killed at least 10 people and caused enormous damage. Storm Daniel was the worst to hit the country, for more than a century.
It's left a trail of devastation across the central region of Thessaly. Homes were swept away, roads and bridges collapsed and much of Greece's best agricultural land, is now under water.

Experiences like this will make you grateful that atleast your family is safe. Ofcourse material things are the product of blood, sweat and tears but we should realize that human bonds are more important than accumulating wealth. I have come from a country where floods are like included 3 times a year and I can't remember alot of things that I once owned that had been washed away or destroyed by the flood but I'm still grateful for my life and for the life of my family.

Everything became expensive and a rip of every day and people think that it is the only way to survive More money and always more. Actually they ''did'' something, they gave loans from ESPA as supposed ''investments'' for flood protection to Greece. Which however never reached Greek treasuries because Greece was blocked for the last 13 years from receiving such things thanks to being stripped of ''investment Grade'' during the crisis!!! As a result the 1.5 billions reached directly the pockets of the great funds, the foreign oligarchs of the secondary market that have bought Greece altogether during the crisis and suck its blood through usury and of course the corrupts that we have in power and the whole EU supports which they ate together under desk. And while the 1.5 billions never reached the treasury, the debt of this 1.5 billion was again added to our public debt, which along with the central government debt and private commercial debt reaches the amount of 900 billions in an economy that is about 200 billions in GDP(in contrast to a GDP of 280 billions and public debt of the same amount with zero central government debt that was before the 2010 and the EU memorandums and ''aid packages'' of the PSI) and which of course we the people shall pay through taxes.

The reportage is actually very truthful. All of mainland Greece is affected by this flood in Thessaly, because the main highway connecting Southern and Northern Greece (Athens and Thessaloniki, the two largest cities in Greece) has flooded and the railway has been destroyed. As far as transport and trade is concerned, the country has been split into two. That's how major this flood is. It's not just a peripheral part of the country, like Cornwall. Most major roads connecting the two largest Greek cities go through Thessaly, it's a central area.
