The "Mit tudom én?" phrase has a more slang version: "Mittomén?". It's like "I dunno" just in hungarian.

Én a 'sejtelmem sincs róla' verziót is szoktam használni. Sőt, időnként a lilával keverve, 'halvány lila sejtelmem sincs róla' formában is. De ezeket is szoktam használni: 'Ha én azt tudnám ...?!' 'Honnan a búbánatból tudjam?' Ha dühös vagyok, akkor 'Honnan a büdös búbánatból tudjam?!'

Well I knew 2/7...Still have a lot of work to do... :( "Mit tudom én" is I believe the exact translation of the fairly used french one : "Qu'est-ce que j'en sais ?"

I give you a challenge for the future, I believe that none of the 12.5 millions of hungarian speakers is able to explain, the meaning of the prefix "el" and "meg". In 5 years in different places in the country, I have never met one.

AmnesiaGm1 it’s on my list I’m working on it. Not easy to come up with a clear answer though haha. But I’ll collect examples lot of people asked for it. Actually they make the same to verbs, you have to learn it which on to use with which verb. It’s like irregular verbs in English there’s no rule for the three forms, no explanation :D okay el and meg can be explained better but there are some parts that only has to be seen and used as much as possible to remember which verbs you can use them with. I’ll have a video about it for sure in the near future ☺️ thanks for the comments!

@@HungarianwithSziszi Yes I know that each verb has its prefix : elolvasni, elmenni, megérteni, megenni...After a while I think I know which one to use, but knowing if we place it or not, is tough...After years I had to find my own logic, I think I have more or less got it but my understanding of the rule is still a bit blurry. I believe that we must use it, whenever we are in past/present/futur, when the start and the end of the action is clearly spoted in the timeline. "Sometimes I watch action movie" : it has no start and no end "Tomorow afternoon I will do this" : it has an accurate start and end Tell me if I am wrong...I may be :|
