Salomon WildCross Review | Best trail shoe for Hawaii?

Today I am going to talk about my new favorite trail shoe, the Salomon Wildcross. After running and hiking more than 50 miles with it, I am doing a Salomon Wildcross review, pointing out things I like or I dislike about this trail running shoe.
The Salomon Wildcross is an aggressive trail running for technical, muddy, wet trails so perfect for Hawaii trails!
I've put 50 miles into the shoe on different terrains so hopefully I can provide you some good information about this great trail shoe.

ok you talked me into a pair of wildcross, as far as sizing, I wear a 10.5 nike I was going to order 11 wildcross. your thoughts? thx for videos

The wildcross should be the same size as your regular shoe size. For me at least that is what works.

I have these and they are truly amazing for trail running. I returned them as the left sole came lose after 35km on the bend, hoping the new ones keep up, otherwise they excellent, stable, comfortable and aggressive shoes.

It actually happened with mine too Wesley. Both soles started to peel off, like some gluing problem with the shoe. That was a problem with the 1st generationn shoes, I think. I ordered new ones and these have issues! Glad you like them!

Great review Mr Hungaro!! Based on your review, I will be getting a pair. I'm curious, what are black nails? Are there black nails on the trails?

Mahalo Marcus! Don’t tell me you never got black toe nails yet all your years hiking on these trails. If not, you are lucky! I usually get them when I hike longer period of times, backpacking or steep downhills. Usually in shoes which toebox are narrower.

I have a pair of speed cross I love the LOOKS of... but they're so darn tight I can't run in them. I've been debating trying the wild cross. Thanks for a great review!

Thank You Kelly! Yes, I had the same problem with the Speedcross. Not anymore with the Wildcross, so definitely worth a try!

Thank You Gracia! This shoe is definitely a good choice for most of the trails here in Hawaii. As I said in the video, they work better on rougher surfaces than the smooth, pack down trails. I would suggest you to try them on first, but if you owned a SpeedCross before, then the feel of it is kind of the same but with more room in the front for your toes.

Super pentru primul review. Mi-a placut ca ai folosit pantoful murdar, a fost o chestie neasteptata. Mi-au placut cadrele de detaliu si felul in care ai pus informatia. Poate putin mai mult Broll in timp ce povestesti si pe Broll, pe anumite cadre sa fie muzica mai energica, in ton cu miscarea ca sa mai schimbe cate putin ritmul. Dar oricum, chiar daca pentru mine nu e de interes produsul (pantoful) mi-a placut video-ul.

Merci pentru feedback! Da, si eu am realizat ca am folosit cam putin B Roll si trebuie sa adaug putin mai multa energie 😀 Pantofii murdari era o optiune in care am vrut sa arat, ca deja ii folosit, deja o vazut actiune pe munte si cred ca sugereaza credibilitate.

How does it compares to speedcross 4, 5?

The Speedcross 5 has 10mm drop compred to 8mm of the Wildcross and the Speedcross heavier (320g vs 290g). In my experience the multi directional lugs on the Wildcross gives you more stabilty on different variety of terrains. I know that the Speedcross is one of the best seller in the “cross” series, but I think the Wildcross is a more flexible, not as beefy, pair of trail shoes with a wider toebox, which can fit more people. Of course this is my opinion, and I just share my experience.

Overall...my favorite trail shoe...used to be 97$ but they did raise the price and that was weird.

Beside Salomon on technical terrain, I really enjoy the Altra shoes, but mostly for trail running.
