I'm an American, a bit past 50 years old. I typically listen to rock, pop, etc. Depends on my mood and the beat. My nephew came over one day and says "This is different, but I think you might like it." He has me watch/listen to one of your videos. I fell in love. I can't speak, read or understand the language, but the music touches me every time, every song. Please include subtitles on each one. Being able to understand the words makes the experience even more powerful. Your sound, your talent, the beauty of your videos … all amazing. Thank you.

Same here. And this was never "my" sort of music....but these guys have SOMETHING that reached right off the internet and caught me by the soul. Translations would be great. Every song I have found translations for have been WONDERFUL with meaning. For this song....that gentle, underlying melody that contradicts with the force of the vocals....YES. A million times over.

Mid-50's. There's something here in their songs that speaks to an older part of me. Like when I tune my guitar to open C . . . there's something ancient about it that resonates . . . .

@GoFuck Yourself I've listened to Asian pop/ rock for about 30 years. Actually longer, if you consider I loved 'Sukiyaki' by Kyu Sakamoto, way back when it was being played on the radio. I listened mostly Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Found out the pop music from Kazakhstan sounded pretty good, so Mongolia was a natural progression for me. I was never much of a "metal head" but there are those songs that get through, onto my "Like" list...HOWEVER...these guys just stormed in and I got caught. Happy to surrender to the spell of their music.

this song reminds me of my horse. this song is a canter beat. stand up in front of a fan, bend your knees, lean forward, close your eyes, on the drum beats lean a little further, pulse back and forth. that's what riding a horse feels like. 'mother swan' is more of a trot. bounce with every other beat (up-bounce, down-bounce, up-bounce).

@escaramujo
@escaramujo 3 жыл бұрын
@@ActualGoatUnicorn She feels it with her core, diaphragm, bones and connective tissues, just the same way a non deaf person does. Certain rhythms are 'healthy' to people with heart problems because we feel music with the whole of our bodies, not only our ears. You can recognize those kinds of sounds in 'shamanic' music, and in folk. Visceral music is a title to music that has more effect on those parts of your body than in your ears. You can try to feel the music like a deaf person going to a concert with ear plugs and noise-stoppers, it's a very pleasant experience.

Im 40 and have loved your guys music when first heard it. I found the translated lyrics for this song just today, now I will include this on my playlist when visit my parents at cemetery. The lyrics are universal words of protection and advice parents give their sons. At 18 when went off to college my dad told me to take care of my faithful little truck(steed) and mom reminded me to meet nice people, dad to be wary of people and be guarded but open to friendship. The last words they said at end just like here is you will always be able to come home where we will be waiting for you.

You know, when i first heard this tune, i thought this tune was beautiful, because it reminded me of travelling on horseback across the country, being true to myself and remembering where i come from. Looking up the lyrics, i was amazed that's actually what the song was about... Remembering who you are and where you come from, as you travel the world. This is great song, because it transcends language, which is what music is supposed to do... I don't know a word of mongolian, and yet somehow still managed to accurately determine the meaning of the song, based purely on the feeling the song inspires in me. What an amazing tune, easily a lifelong favourite. :)

Two things: 1) To my eastern European ears this music sounds very different but at the same time its ethnic / ancestral side speaks to me on a very deep, almost primal level. 2) The music is crafted in a very professional way, it's not overly complex or inaccessible but there are buildups and subtle layers and I think the musicianship displayed on the whole album is just brilliant.

@@watleythewizard2381 you missed the point that no matter the culture we come from, some things are universal especially when expressed in music that causes a shared emotional feeling. The fact that they are sharing their culture and traditions with the world In a way that has reached MILLIONS of people is a testament to them as artist but also their talents. The art of throat singing while not exclusive to the Mongolian culture is one of the most unique and difficult sounds to master. The fact that the OP has feels a connection due to the song being a protection song for a young boy riding his horse off to join the horse and parents giving him advice but reminding him they will be waiting for him at home upon his return. Mongolian culture reveres the horse for basically being the center of their culture from being a transportation animal, a war animal, to giving them milk and also fuel for their fires in the form of manure, the mongolians are one of the most horse centered cultures in the world.

@@miraclemay24 so, when does indigenous end and whatever the other option is begin? How long does a group need to be in a place for them to become indigenous? Is migration natural or unnatural in spite of nature, or is it only when white people or Han Chinese do it that it becomes an issue? Are you certain the mongols were the first to occupy that land? (They most definitely were not). Does a group need to be nomadic or use wooden tools to make them indigenous? My point is, you were virtue signalling simply by drawing a distinction based on the arguably vague term indigenous and other cultures, implying that the indigenous elements are better than modern or western ones.

@batlklhagva I take being called Mongolian as a compliment. As a kid I watched a documentary on Genghis Khan and the Golden Horde. And thought they were amazing archers, horse riders, and fierce warriors, and that instilled in me the initial interest and respect for the culture. As I grew older my reading lead me other facts like how the Great Khan set up education centers, a postal service, hospitals, and allowed people to practice their way of life even after adding them to the Mongol empire. That deepened my respect for Mongolia, Mongolians, the culture amd its history. I mean how can you not respect that? I honestly would have learned the language had their been anyone in my town who taught it.

We are related but not direct. In BC 48, Hunnu empire divided into two (west and east) Western Hunnu moved to europe and later settled in there. One of the most well known king is Attila from the western Hunnu. Attila is very common name in Hungary. On the other hand, eastern Hunnu stayed in their original territory which is central asia and they are the direct ancestors of many nomadic tribes including "mongols". It's a very general information, so I recommend you make some research on this if you're interested :))
