I think you hit it on the head that the highlights of York new arc is how it shows killua and gon's strengths and weaknesses, but how they bring out the best in each other. Its often interpreted that Killua and Gon are foils of each other but I feel its more like they are two halves of a whole and what one lacks the other makes up for. Great job pointing out how this is shown with Gon noticing the nen on the items but Killua thinking of using this as an advantage. I'm a little surprised you didn't mention how we start to see shadows of Gon's selfishness in dragging Killua into helping Kurapika and such. Also, how when they are following Machi and Nobunaga, Gon is now shown to be taking on a "protective" role towards Killua like how he did with Leorio and Kurapika. I feel like its because of what you mentioned happen on whale island: Gon now views them as equals, when before it felt more like he thought Killua was much stronger and cooler than him, like he was indestructible. Gon is now starting to notice Killua's vulnerabilities, as Killua is starting to slowly develop a 'devotee' complex to Gon and being amazed by him in ways. Their roles are starting to reverse in the York New arc which is funny when you think about it: York New is the reversed version on New York and Killua and Gon's roles are now reversing. Woo irony! Awesome video as always and I can't wait until the next part. Especially now that you have a working editing program!

There is definitely a big shift happening and you explain it very well. I probably could have done a better job looking at this from Killua's perspective instead of Gon's. But I feared exaggerating the shift too much since it becomes more apparent in the next two arcs. I originally was going to talk about Gon dragging Killua along to help Kurapika, but changed my mind based on the conversation between Killua and Melody when they're tracking the Phantom Troupe. She says "I see why Kurapika would count on you for help" and he replies that he doesn't really WANT to help (implying Gon forced him too). Her response is a simple "Oh yea?" which lead me to believe she can tell he is lying by his heartbeat. This is important to Killua's development since he normally is so strongly focused on JUST Gon, but I didn't feel like it had a big impact on their friendship overall so I didn't want to dwell on it. However, now that I think about it more I could see how this is Gon rubbing off on Killua.

GOMEN NASAI! There were other bits I considered talking about for this arc but they didn't fit well with the overall theme. There's a natural progression in their friendship that you notice with their dialogue and mannerisms, but I wasn't sure if I could add any interesting perspective to those things.

First of all, thank you so much for this series. I was an avid fan of hxh ever since the anime aired in our country back on early 2000s. Even as a kid, i knew gon and Killua's friendship is special, there's something so warm and poignant about it. And with this series, i can now see it on a different light. I love it
