I’d be down to stretch a few more of these trucks, or some dodge megacabs to longbeds as well. If interested, DM me on Instagram @hunter.goodrich and we can discuss pricing and build slots.
While my friend was on vacation I cut his 2012 Tundra Crewmax and put an 8’ bed on it.

As a multiple Tundra owner I can say the stock frame are much more flexy than my GMC's with their boxed frames. If this person is going to tow or carry loads in the bed I would add diagonal cross bracing to the new frame section kind of like the spare tire cross brace to ensure it is stiff. I understand that the fuel tank still has to go in. These cross braces could be bolted in to make them easy.

Should always stretch from the straight section in the middle of the frame. That way all suspension geometry stays the same. Also the new section doesn’t overlap the old frame enough and should be fish plated. Final product looks good but I wouldn’t put a sled deck in there.

You can cut them square-- just make sure you put a diamond patch across the seam-- and then you'll have your "angles" when you weld that up. Which distributes the stress down the beam, just like "cutting at angles" does. But at the same time, it's easier to do, because it's just a square cut.

The Australians always go with a Z cut for the chassis, weld some angular steel inside the chassis, inset the extension with same size material as the original chassis and weld a reinforcement sleeve covering the full length of the worked area. Probably because of the rough terrains they go in with their extended land cruisers and patrols but it may be good to consider for heavy duty applications. Great video and great work!

Lack of frame boxing, way oversized leaf spring mounts hanging to low and flat (Toyota leafs are known to be crap that goes flat fast), much heavier drive shaft with same carrier bearing, increased brake fluid capacity and longer lines with same brake booster, reduced the already to low load carrying capacity thanks to adding more weight to the truck and extending the frame making it weaker more prone to failure under heavy loads, then all the extended wiring, which is prone to shorts, corrosion, and failures now, total lack of undercarriage anti rust treatment. (That we could see) SO many issues with this mod. While I love and dream of this mod on my 1794 Tundra, there are SO many other better things you could and should have done to this truck. Larger gas tank first and foremost. - I need this badly. Upgraded rear and front suspension. - Done minus leafs - full Bilstein 6112/5160 3/2 setup with dif drop, carrier bearing drop, and drop shackles. Supercharger upgrade. - I need this. Rear under seat storage mod. - I need this. Power tailgate lock mod. - Done - factory bolt on. Headlight/exterior lights upgrade. - I need this. Interior lights upgrade. - Done Proper offset wheels and larger tires. - I need this. Other minor mods I can't recall right now.
