Are these tripods good enough to take long shots or are they mainly meant for glassing

Have you reviewed the Tricer tripods?

We haven’t done a video on their tripods yet, but I plan to do an updated comparison on the GearFool YT channel this spring. We have used Tricer quite a bit and are very happy with their products! They’re one of our best selling products at GearFool. -Brady

This is great info thank you! I chose the 633 over the 634. My understanding is that the lower leg is beefier on the 633 so even with the same weight it should be more stable when both tripods are fully extended. I’ve never tried the 634 though. Do you guys think the 633 bottom leg is more stable than the 634? Thanks again!

Correct, the 633 3rd leg was a little larger diameter, however they all have the same wall thickness which is what plays the biggest part in durability I believe. Either option will be plenty durable for normal use, it is a well built tripod!

From the center post, the hanging backpack needs to touch the ground, otherwise the pack will move/swing in the breeze, adding movement, instability to the tripod head.

Manfrotto and Benro are great . Giotto also , but they are at the top end expense wise .

You are brave to disassemble that leg on camera. I fixed similar for a friend. A challenge! I was glad parts were quickly available.

What are the thoughts on the SIRUI AM-284 vs ST-124 ? The SIRUI AM-284 doesn't have the middle stick thing, but the tubes are larger diameter so it can handle more weight and be more stable for shooting, but glassing on it would not be the best. Any thoughts?

The lack of a center post provides more stability (fewer joints) but you lose that extra height. It's definitely a trade off. If you're looking to use your tripod for shooting often, I would definitely recommend a more robust tripod.

Would you use the ST-124 for shooting or just for glassing? Trying to find the best shooting tripod (just the legs)
@huntinfool_official Жыл бұрын
I would use it to shoot in a pinch, but a more robust tripod will give you better performance at the cost of weight.

What head do you recommend to use for a rifle?

Enjoyed the comparison. Can the Sirius traveler be used to support an 8-10 pound crossbow or rifle for shooting? Thanks

I watch this and can’t imagine spending the money for an Outdoorsman’s trips… yet people swear by them. Thoughts?
@huntinfool_official Жыл бұрын
We chose not to add them to this review because the price was far higher than anything else, and the performance was not what we were hoping. They may be durable, but we chose these heads over the outdoorsman.

Have any of you tried the Sirui Traveler X line?

I prefer the 3 leg as its less set up time and fiddling about with collars or clamps .

Thanks for the video! I was really struggling trying to decide on a tripod!

There is another argument for the 3 segment tripod it's always more stable. If you use tripods for camera gear you know these facts. I even think you give the wrong advises for buying tripods (in general)! :(
@huntinfool_official Жыл бұрын
You're correct, however the center column allows for more height with very little added weight, and when standing to glass, that is very important. A full height 3 segment tripod would add a lot of weight.
