Pencil EDC is underrated! I used to carry a pen all the time, and then after getting annoyed with loosing a pen for the gazillionth time, i remembered my grampa used to keep a small pencil (2-3 inches) with him all the time. Now i am converted. No annoying out of ink situations. No lost pens. No bent or broken clips. Sharpen the pencil with pocket knife. Pencil works in -40°. Pencil works on wood. Vote Pencil.

That rostfrei knife is indeed a golf knife, usually something given away at some sort of golfing event...door prize thingy. From what I can Google around and see it is a 6-function mini tool that includes a compact folding blade, a divot repair tool, cleat cleaner, cleat tightener, and a bottle opener/screwdriver.

I actually own that Japanese hobo knife. It was originally my Dad’s, his very first knife when he was a kid. I asked if I could buy it from him and he declined, saying it was his most prized possession. About a month later he surprised me by giving it to me as a birthday gift, unannounced. It’s the only time I’ve ever cried receiving a gift. That said, being totally objective, they aren’t very good. Tons of sharp angles all over it, and the tools run into one another as you open and close it. I got myself a Victorinox Fieldmaster, and a Ranger for my dad. The Japanese hobo knife lives in a very visible spot on my dresser now.

Antique EDC is a tough thing to define but I do know what my father carried in the 1970's. Small folding pocket knives from Case and Old Timer. His watch was a Rolex Datejust. He always had a hank in his suit pocket. His wedding ring and his Morris Harvey University class ring. No self defense needed in those days. Leather brief case usually a Samsonite. They just didn't talk about it like we do these days.

I did something like this on vacation recently. I found a 1930's-1950's I*XL George Wostenholme, Barlow knife. It's really reignited my interest in traditional slipjoint knives.

Golfers (utility) includes - divot tool, 'shoe spike wrench', club face cleaner, tee punch etc...y'all get the point. SAK actually still puts one out. New England (Massachusetts in particular) has some of the best antiques shops. One in particular had a bin of about 15 old axes. You may have been able to had purchase them all for the price you payed for that one. Haggled an old Gransfors Bruk out of it for $12 bucks as well as a newer Frost River Hudson (hatchet) just under $20. Always on the hunt for Zippo's. Yeah keep doing these, find them entertaining and interesting.

Hey Taylor, what a great video. I like antique shops and flea markets, old EDC and I collect vintage fountain pens and mechanical pencils. I got the EDC from my grandpa from my grandma, his watch, his old WW2 aluminum and brass lighters, the two cigarette cases, his gold cufflinks with onix, the celluloid fountain pen, his ebonite mechanical pencil, the cash coin with hole that he had on his key chain and his pocket knife. For me, these are memories that I truly treasure. Feel free to show more such content. Greetings from Germany Gerd

I had a Sears and Roebuck fishing pole with a working reel today. Priced it at $8.00. Had 3 junk poles I priced at 2 and 3 dollars. Don't forget thrift stores! We get aluminum camping cooking utensils frequently. I bought a 0-32 degree sleeping bag last year; it was very gently used/maybe used once. Nothing a laundromat didn't fix. We get propane camping cookstoves, lanterns, kerosene lamps, tents ( a one-person tent had been in my car for more than 2 years now), Metal tent pegs, opened boxes of firestarters, tire irons, hand tools, basic leathermans, everything imaginable.
